A nice cafe in Singapore with coffee that is (almost) too cute to drink

It was a dark and stormy day. The weather in Singapore s so unpredictable these days. One minute the sun is blazing and the next minute it is storming. Too lazy to brave the elements we decided to hang out at this nice cafe in Singapore – The Stamford Brasserie at Raffles City.   We had been to this place before (read about our previous visit) and would normally prefer to try out a new place. But for this cosy quiet cafe in Singapore, we were happy to make an exception. Its ability to endear seems to grow on us.

nice cafe in Singapore

Located on the ground floor of Swissôtel The Stamford, it takes up the space which used to function as a holding area for those intending to head to the restaurants at the top of the building.  This cafe is quiet as it is not immediately visible to casual visitors who tend to head to the shopping mall area of Raffles City for dining options. Which is precisely why we think it is a nice cafe in Singapore to catch a quiet moment by ourselves.

Beers feature quite prominently here. There are quite a few choices in the menu.

Stamford Brasserie is well designed with a number of nice touches and details. The hexagonal mosaic flooring, the old look furniture, wooden menu board etc make it an interesting place for our wandering eyes.

As you can see, this little cafe has many fans.

There is an attractive display of cakes and pastries.  We ordered a couple to eat with our coffee.

The assorted fruit Danish costs $4.  The chestnut eclair $7. They both taste as good as they look – exquisite.

As for the coffee, I will let the picture speak for itself.  It is hard to find such detailed 3-D latte art. Cappucino costs $5.80 in this nice cafe in Singapore. Not much more (probably less even) than some more famous coffee shops where you have to queue to get your coffee.  This coffee is too cute to drink. But once we were done with the photos, we had to do what we have to do.

A quiet table by the window at this nice cafe in Singapore is probably a good way to pass away the time while waiting for the rain to clear.  Some serious food is also served here. You can see the menu and read more about the place in our post on an earlier visit.
