Monument Lifestyle at Duxton is a retail store and cafe. The cafe section is small but it serves good coffee. It is a cosy spot for breakfast, brunch or some light bites anytime of the day.
Monument Lifestyle Retail
At first look, Monument Lifestyle looks like a lifestyle boutique which also offers coffee for takeaway.
Clothing for the hip and the kid, bags and mugs as well as scented candles and flavoured toothpicks are among the items found in the retail store. Coffee beans are also available.
The Cafe
The transition from the retail store to the cafe section at the rear is seamless. If there is no patron at the table, one might think that the furniture is on display for sale.
Monument Cafe Menu
The menu of Monument Lifestyle Cafe is fairly straightforward. There are sandwiches, toasts, salad and acai and yogurt bowls. Desserts, pastries and cookies as well as hot and cold beverages complete the offering. Below are photos of the Drinks Menu and Food Menu.
Brunch at Monument Lifestyle
We visited the Monument cafe at Duxton for brunch recently and ordered a Tuna Melt ($14) and Acai Bowl ($9.50). We also had a cup of latte ($6.50) and a cup of Americano ($5). Ordering and payment were made at the counter. The food and beverages were served to us.
The Tuna Melt was fairly standard cafe fare. The bread was nicely toasted and was crusty. The fresh lettuce was crisp and the tomato juicy. It was a good tuna melt but not cheap.
The acai bowl looked better and was probably a better value proposition. Topped with strawberry, banana and granola, it was a simple guilt free treat.
The coffee was good – smooth and creamy with a pleasant acidity.
Relaxing spot for good coffee
Monument Lifestyle at Duxton is unlike the typical cafe in a hipster enclave or a swanky cafe in a mall. The interior is visually engaging and the place has personality. The small brightly lit space is stylish and cosy at the same time. If you are not into crowds, the unique lifestyle concept store can be a wonderful relaxing spot for good coffee and some light nibbles.
