Coexist Coffee Co.opens cafes that, besides serving good coffee and food, turn the focus on design talents in Singapore. Their first two outlets, in Hillview and Keong Saik, have interior designs that have been much talked about. The new Coexist Coffee Co. Cafe at Lifelong Learning Institute has very pleasing aesthetics and is their biggest outlet.
Coexist Coffee Co. @ LLI
Coexist Coffee Co. Cafe is located on the ground level of Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) in Paya Lebar. It has a spiral staircase that leads to the mezzanine level.
The interior design has a tropical park theme. There are winding pathways, signposts and streetlamps as well as lalang and pebble garden.
The barista bar takes centrestage. Tables and chairs of varied shapes and sizes are arranged around the bar.
Menu of Coexist Coffee Cafe @ LLI
Notwithstanding its name, Coexist Coffee offers much more than just coffee. The menu of Coexist Coffee Cafe @ LLI offers brunch items as well as bowls and salad, pastas and pizzas and mains such as steak fries and grilled octopus.
Below are pictures of a few pages of the menu.
Coffee & Desserts at Coexist Cafe
We visited Coexist Coffee Co. @ LLI during its soft launch and only desserts and beverages were available. We had black coffee ($4.50) and white coffee($5) to go with a slice of Hojicha Swiss Roll ($6) and a piece of Bellini Mousse ($10).
The Hojicha Swiss Roll looked great and was enjoyable. With Hojicha Sponge Cake filled with Purple Sweet Potato and Hojicha Cream, it was rich and sweet. There was a distinct nutty roasted tea flavour.
The Bellini looked dainty. The White Peach Mousse with Champagne Jelly and Raspberry Vanilla Sponge had a light and airy texture. The Champagne Jelly was strong enough to make us feel a little tingling on our palates. It is perhaps not a dessert for everyday but go for it when you feel like having champagne in mid day but have to abstain because you need to go back to work.
Coexist Coffee self-source and self-roast all their beans. As expected, the coffee at the cafe was well made – aromatic with nice flavourful notes.
Big & Hip
The hip quotient of Paya Lebar must be getting a boost from the opening of Coexist Coffee Co. @ LLI. The cafe serves good coffee in a comfortable space that is aesthetically pleasing. It is big and spacious and the menu is varied enough. It should attract the office crowd and people attending training at LLI, as well as those looking for a hip cafe experience and anyone who wants to capture iconic shots for their social media following.
