Glyph Supply Cafe at TripleOne Somerset is an ideal place for a coffee and snack break while shopping or working around the central Orchard Road area.
We continued our search for the best coffee in Singapore with a stopover at the Glyph Supply Co cafe at 111 Somerset in the Orchard Road area. It is a pleasant. almost minimalist type of cafe with mostly white walls and furniture. We had visited the Dough cafe at CHIJMES which is also run by the Glyph folks and were impressed by what we saw.
The retail zone on the first and second level of the 111 Somerset Building has a number of f&b outlets. The Glyph cafe opened in 2019 and has apparently remained resilient despite the ups and downs of the COVID situation. In fact it seems to have expanded to take up more space across the corridor (see picture below).
Coffee making equipment and some types of coffee beans are available for sale at the cafe.
What We Drank and Ate at Glyph Supply Cafe
Here is a picture of the Glyph coffee menu. The most expensive coffee is the CCD Reserve Gesha #3 from Pananama.
Based on recent experiences we had concluded that we prefer espresso coffee rather than filtered coffee which seems to appeal to coffee aficionados. Our choice of drink was a cappucino ($5.50) and a black coffee ($4.50). We also had a croissant to go with the drink. The coffee was good except that the cappuccino was served rather cool, only slightly warmer than lukewarm. We prefer our coffee somewhat hotter. Other than that it was a pleasant coffee break after NTUC Fairprice shopping in the building.
