WOK°15 Kitchen is possibly the best Chinese restaurant we can think of for a quiet meal in Singapore. Enjoy dim sum with a view of million dollar yachts and the Sentosa sea. And you don’t have to be a member of the ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove.
ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove Dining
ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove is a private marina & yacht club located at Sentosa Cove. This is a very posh area in Sentosa. You will pass by seaside bungalows in this area and the W Hotel is across the pond. In between is a stretch of restaurants and supermarkets known as Quayside Isle, which was what usually comes to mind when we think of dining at Sentosa. We did not realise that a hidden gem exists a stone’s throw away. WOK°15 Kitchen is the Chinese restaurant at the Marina. It is accessible to ordinary patrons who are not Marina members. It can even be reserved on CHOPE, how egalitarian !
WOK°15 Kitchen Chinese Restaurant
I guess people like us who are not members of the ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove would not think of having lunch in the Chinese restaurant there. At the same time the Members are probably busy people who will be at the marina or tinkering with their boats mainly on weekends. Which makes WOK°15 Kitchen a very quiet and posh place to have lunch on a weekday.
As you can see we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The ornate ceiling lights gave it a distinct Chinese restaurant feel. The plush furry chairs were comfortable.
WOK°15 Kitchen Menu
Here are pictures of the WOK°15 Kitchen dim sum menu and a few sample pages from the a la carte menu. We selected a mix of items from both menus.
Dim Sum
We had a typical dim sum selection – char siew bao ($4.80), crystal dumplings, fish congee with lily bulb ($12.80) and cheong fun with char siew. The congee and cheong fun were very good while the rest were ok. The prices are similar or perhaps even lower than comparable Chinese restaurants in town.
A La Carte Menu Items
We also took the opportunity to try some dishes from the a la carte menu.
The braised sea cucumber was a beautiful dish but we thought that it was too hard and bland. A better choice was the braised spinach tofu with a trio of mushrooms ($20). It was a substantial dish even though it was only a small serving. The taste of the mushroom and gravy was rich and pleasant. It is the type of dish that goes well with steamed rice.
Overall we thought that WOK°15 Kitchen, the Chinese Restaurant in ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove was an interesting discovery. It is certainly the best Chinese restaurant we can think of if we want to have some peace and quiet on a weekday afternoon in Singapore.
