Avenue on 3 Cafe Paragon Orchard sits in a corner of the new luxury fashion retail space by F J Benjamin on level 3 of the Orchard Road mall. There are many places for afternoon tea or a coffee break. Cafes such as PS Cafe and Halcyon & Crane are popular choices. But our recent coffee stop at Avenue 3 made us think it is possibly the best place for coffee or tea at Paragon Singapore.
Avenue on 3 Paragon Orchard
Launched by F J Benjamin in April 2023, Avenue On 3 is described as a highly-curated multi-label luxury shoe and lifestyle concept store with 8,000 square feet of space at Paragon Shopping Centre’s third floor. According to their website, this luxurious retail space provides a chic, comfortable venue for social meetups, events and workshops over artisanal food and drinks.
There is certainly a vast array of fashion products, especially shoes on display. As usual, our attention was drawn to the f & b aspect of things. There are two separate areas to eat and drink at this FJ Benjamin Paragon outlet. A coffee bar (picture above) and a proper cafe (top picture) which was where we had coffee and dessert. Like moths drawn to light, we were attracted by the sparkling gold and white lustre of this new cafe.
Avenue on 3 Cafe Paragon Menu
Here are pictures of the cafe menu. It contains the usual cafe baked food and drinks as well as some more serious food for meal time such baked rainbow trout and lamb shank.
At the coffee bar, the menu is understandably more limited to some drinks and a few snacks such as croissant and some desserts (picture below).
Morning breakfast is available from 9am to 12pm – coffee and croissant for $9++ sounds fair.
Our coffee break at Avenue at 3 Cafe
We were impressed by the table setting. Good quality tableware is always a good sign of things to come. Beauty with substance is even better. The coffee tasted as good as it looks. Elaborate latte art of different designs were produced for us. We like the attention to detail at this place.
The freshly baked scones ($23++) were served with a cup of coffee together with three types of spread – Devon clotted cream, strawberry preserve and French butter. Very English indeed! Not as elaborate as afternoon tea at Bettys Café Tea Rooms in York, but good enough as an escape from the real world on a hot Singapore afternoon. Our only complain was the size of the scones – quite small in size but otherwise deliciously light and crumbly.
This is a picture of the apple tart ($14++). Pretty and yummy is all I need to say.
