Toss & Turn – salad bar for wholesome satisfying food

Tossing and turning at night worrying about unhealthy eating? Craving a light and delicious meal that won’t make you feel guilty? Then you may want to try Toss & Turn, the salad bar offering wholesome and satisfying food.

Toss & Turn @ PLQ Mall

Toss & Turn is part of The Bakery Depot (the holding company of Cedele and Workspace Espresso). Cedele Kitchen opened a new outlet in PLQ Mall recently. Toss & Turn is co-located with Cedele Kitchen.

Situated on mall’s ground level, the compact dining space has a lot of natural light and a spacious feel. You can find seats for the solo diner, a couple or small groups.

Protein, Salad & Smoothie

The website of Toss & Turn says it offers “an array of unique deli, hot, and cold protein choices“. You will find protein bowls and smoothie bowls on its menu.

You can create your very own protein bowls. Start by queuing up to place your order, choosing from a selection of fresh greens, proteins, sides and a variety of dressings and toppings. A basic regular bowl is $12 but you may have to pay extra if you select certain items or if you want an extra helping of an item.

Toss & Turn also offers a menu of chef-crafted Favourtite Bowls. These carefully designed combinations of ingredients provide a blend of flavours that will please a range of diners with different preferences – including fans of Mediterranean and Asian flavours.

Whether you opt for one of the Favourtite Bowls or create your own bowl, there are also options to pay an add-on to make it a set meal: add $4 for a soup or a coffee/tea; add $8.80 for a smoothie bowl or smoothie drink.

Chicken Tikka Bowl

We picked the Chicken Tikka Bowl ($13.80) from the menu. The bowl included generous cuts of chicken tikka, romaine lettuce, quinoa lentil, potato salad, grilled broccoli, red peppers, carrots and cucumber yogurt raita. Cashew lime dressing could be drizzled over the bowl or given to you in a separate container.

The chicken tikka, marinated in yogurt and spices, was nicely grilled and had a good hint of smokiness. The meat was tender and flavourful. We liked the cashew lime dressing. It was tangy, nutty and refreshing all at the same time and went well with the salad. The Chicken Tikka Bowl was very satisfying.

Design Your Own Bowls

We also tried a couple of bowls where we picked the ingredients ourselves. We tried the Grilled Herbed Chicken and Falafel from the protein section. Both were delicious.

Other items that we were glad that we had picked were soba, grilled maple pumpkin and grilled sweet potato.

Overall, we were well-fed and had an enjoyable healthy meal.

We also paid the extra $4 for a cup of latte, which was served by Cedele Kitchen.

Healthier Choice

Toss & Turn is a good place for a complete nutritious meal. It can also be a destination for those who want to feel healthier and happier, a welcome respite for anyone losing sleep over food guilt. Making the healthier choice is easier and more enjoyable at Toss & Turn.

Besides the new outlet in PLQ Mall, Toss & Turn also has outlets in Asia Square and CIMB Plaza.
