Siglap gets a new relaxed neighborhood hangout with Buzzed Coffee Bar. This new cafe offers an early-morning caffeine fix, light bites and hearty meals throughout the day and cold beers on tap late into the night.
Buzzed in Siglap
Buzzed Coffee Bar inhabits the shophouse space on Upper East Coast Road that was formerly home to Bloom Coffee. The old cafe’s Scandinavian aesthetic and layout remain largely intact, while the walls have been refreshed with a new colour.
A stylish bar dominates the interior. A naturally ventilated patio provides seating for those seeking an al fresco dining experience.
Similar to many contemporary cafes, Buzzed Coffee Bar adopts a streamlined approach: order and pay at the counter, and wait for the staff to bring your food and drinks to your table.
Menu of Buzzed Coffee Bar
The official opening of Buzzed Coffee Bar took place just last week. So the menu might still be a work in progress. When I visited the cafe a few days after the opening, there was a simple menu offering brunch fare along with pastas and mains, like steak and bangers ‘n’ mash, for dinner. Coffee, tea, chocolate, as well as craft beers and cocktails are available all day long.
Below are pictures of the menu of Buzzed Coffee Bar.
Big Brunch
I opted for the Buzzed Brunch ($26), essentially what most cafes label as a Big Breakfast. It comprised eggs, croissant, sausages, diced mushrooms, roasted tomato, and salad – a hearty well-balanced meal on a plate. The chewy texture of the mushrooms added depth, and the well-dressed salad proved surprisingly delightful. The standout component of the dish was the sausages. They were not your typical supermarket variety; instead, they were gourmet sausages of ground pork and spices, which had delightful textures and flavours.
Tea & Coffee
I needed something cold and refreshing. The cold brew passionfruit oolong tea ($5) hit the spot perfectly.
Visiting a new cafe named “Buzzed Coffee Bar”, how could I not try their coffee? So I went for a cup ($5) as my post-meal treat. The black coffee was expertly brewed, boasting an inviting aroma. Its flavour was a blend of richness and brightness, coupled with a pleasant tang.
Buzzed in the Old Stamping Ground
The Siglap cafe scene just got a fresh buzz. Once home to the popular Stamping Ground Coffee House and later Bloom Coffee, the sweet spot along Upper East Coast Road is now occupied by Buzzed Coffee Bar, bringing a new vibe to the neighborhood. The new cafe opens early, enticing early risers with excellent coffee. Throughout the day, its relaxed space offers light bites and hearty meals to satisfy appetites and encourage conversations. As night falls, Buzzed transforms into a laid-back spot, perfect for catching up with friends after work or unwinding after a long day, with craft beers and cold beers on tap freely flowing.
