Le Petit Katong – new French inspired bistro in Katong V

Katong V has a new resident – Le Petit Katong. This bistro, brought to you by the Group Therapy group, promises French-inspired fare in a relaxed café setting.

Occupying the space of the former Group Therapy Katong, Le Petit Katong has a light and airy ambience. The space has clean lines and a soothing light grey colour scheme. While the décor does not scream Parisian, framed posters and prints on the walls add a touch of Gallic charm.

The new restaurant offers a variety of seating options, ranging from stylish lounge chairs to high stools. It caters to both solo diners and groups of various sizes.

Menu of Le Petit Katong

The menu of Le Petit offers a mix of typical cafe fare and French-inspired dishes. Patrons can find familiar favourites like eggs, pancakes, granola bowls, burgers and pastas. But for those seeking a touch of French flair, the menu also offers items such as Ratatouille, Duck Rillettes, Provencal Seafood Stew and the decadent Crepes Suzette.

The ice cream from Scoop Therapy is available at the new bistro.

Lunch at Le Petit Katong

I tried their Chicken Schnitzel ($24), a classic dish elegantly presented with fresh vegetables on the side. The schnitzel delighted; its crispy, golden exterior crackled with each bite, while the tender, delicious chicken within impressed. The portion size was fairly generous. It was an enjoyable and satisfying dish.

For dessert, I indulged in the Apple Pie ($8), a timeless classic. Chunky apple filling that was not overly sweet or tart hit the spot. The Flat White ($6) was well-brewed and smooth, a great way to round off the meal.

New go-to spot in Katong

Though some may consider the prices a tad high, Le Petit Katong provides a pleasant space along with a well-crafted menu that appeals to various tastes. Whether you seek a relaxed café atmosphere or a slightly more refined French-inspired dining experience, Le Petit Katong can be your new go-to spot in Katong.
