GO Unique
Founded in 2014 in Malaysia, GO Noodle House now has 28 outlets across Malaysia and five in Singapore. Following its successful launch in Kuala Lumpur in 2023, GO Unique 有间不一样 arrived in Singapore at the end of last year. Inspired by the Chinese song “我们不一样” wo men bu yi yang (We’re Different) by 大壯 Da Zhuang (YouTube video below), GO Unique aims to offer a distinct dining experience a diverse menu that fuses traditional flavours with modern cooking techniques.

The new eatery is located in the basement of Raffles City, next to Tiong Bahru Bakery and near the ever-popular Din Tai Fung. GO Unique has a simple and comfortable interior with standard dining tables and booth seating. It is a good option for a mid-price range, casual meal.

Menu of GO Unique
While retaining popular classics like Hakka Sauce Pan Mee with Century Egg and Signature Bursting Meatball from GO Noodle House, GO Unique introduces new additions to its menu. A variety of steamed rice, pao fan, claypot rice, toasted buns and snacks are available.

A Taste of GO Unique
We have enjoyed Signature Bursting Meatball noodles at Go Noodle House Singapore at 313 Somerset and the Hakka Sauce Pan Mee with Century Egg at the GO Noodle House at Parkway Parade (now closed). We ordered Steamed Pork Patty with TianJin Tung Choi Rice in Broth ($12.90) and Unique Lap Mei Rice ($15.90).

Steamed Pork Patty with TianJin Tung Choi Rice in Broth arrived in a black pot perched on a portable stove. The broth was then poured over the rice, and we were instructed to allow it to simmer for a few minutes before enjoying.

This dish featured a steamed minced pork patty alongside TianJin Tung Choi (天津冬菜), a type of preserved mustard green commonly used in Chinese cuisine, along with fresh greens and various other ingredients. Crispy rice could be added for textural contrast. The broth was flavourful. It was a satisfying and comforting dish.

The Unique Lap Mei Rice, served piping hot in a claypot, was a hearty and enjoyable dish. Accompanying it was a small bowl of soup. Featuring a medley of preserved meats – Chinese sausage, liver sausage, gui fa cured meat, and lap yuk – it made for a delightful one-dish meal, particularly for those who appreciate Chinese sausages. While the rice itself had little flavour, the layer that adhered to the inside of the pot formed a satisfyingly crispy crust with a hint of smokiness. The cured meats and sausages, with their distinct flavours, complemented the rice perfectly.
