Xi Tang 囍糖 at i12 Katong Mall is a delightful spot for authentic Hong Kong-style desserts and cha chaan teng meals. In contrast to the bustling cafés of Hong Kong, Xi Tang HK Cafe has a calm atmosphere that invites you to sit and take your time.

A Soothing Atmosphere

Located on Level 1 of i12 Katong Mall, Xi Tang offers a cozy sanctuary amid the bustle of the shopping mall. The interior features a blend of cheerful pastel colours set against earthy wood accents. Light pink chairs pair with small tables, while wooden counters and olive green, cube-shaped ottomans provide alternative seating options.
The overall effect is a soothing environment that feels both contemporary and playful-somewhat reminiscent of a stylish child’s playroom.

The Menu of Xi Tang
The cafe does not try to do too much. The menu is not extensive, but it covers classic Hong Kong hot and cold desserts as well as a few with modern twist. Chefs from Hong Kong prepare them. Signature offerings include the Mango Pomelo Sago with Mango Ice Cream and Peach Gum Fungus Longan Tonic Soup. Xi Tang also offers various fruit-based drinks and teas, including the classic Hong Kong Milk Tea.
There are also a few savoury dishes on the menu – like fried noodle and soy sauce chicken rice. There are breakfast sets and set meals for lunch and dinner.
Below are pictures of the menu of Xi Tang.

Set meals at Xi Tang

During our visit, we opted for two set meals: the HK Beef Brisket Rice ($11.90) and HK Pork Chop Rice ($9.90). Each set included a choice of hot or cold tea or coffee, served in charming pink cups that complemented the café’s aesthetic. For an additional $2.50, we added a dessert, the Red Bean Soup, to complete our meal.

The main dishes were simply but nicely presented, with reasonable portion sizes.
The beef brisket featured chunky, tender pieces that were full of flavour,

The pork chop was also tender and and delectable.
Both dishes came served on beds of rice and were accompanied by poached green vegetables, offering a balanced and satisfying meal.

The Red Bean Soup was plain in appearance but delivered in taste. The beans were cooked to achieve that perfect texture – soft enough while retaining a slight bite. Not overly sweet, the soup offered pleasant earthy notes that provided a comforting finish to our meal.

Pleasant Cha Chaan Teng
Katong has many dessert shops. Jin Yu Man Tang Dessert and Wan Mei Dessert are nearby and offer good Chinese desserts. But at Xi Tang HK Cafe, you can enjoy a full meal. The prices are reasonable, and the service is good. The space is pleasant. You can visit Xi Tang alone or with family and friends. It is a pleasant cha chaan teng suitable for something sweet or savoury – whether just a dessert, a light snack or a comforting meal.
