Bicena Seoul is one of the top Korean restaurants in Seoul. It is a one Michelin Star restaurant in the Seoul Michelin Guide and is located in the tallest building in Seoul: Lotte World Tower.
Michelin Star Restaurant in the Sixth Tallest Building in the World
Lotte World Tower is the highest building in Korea. This super skyscraper has 123 stories and a height of 555 meters. According to Wikipedia, it is the sixth tallest building in the world. Bicena is located on the 81st floor.
The 81st floor is high enough to give the restaurant a superb view of the surrounding areas. We were fortunate to be seated at a table next to the window. This is a view from our table that looks northwards to the rest of the city.
Bicena Seoul Menu
There was only one lunch menu at the time of our visit, the KRW170,000 Bicena Mother Nature menu. The only decision to be made was whether to go for the add-ons. We were tempted by the abalone and beef rib add-on for KRW65,000.
There was also a drinks menu to choose from. We chose one of the Korean liquors which I cannot remember the name of. It had one of the lowest alcohol level of 17%. It was a light easy drink to go with the wonderful lunch at Bicena restaurant.
Welcome Snacks and Starters
Soon after our orders were taken, the food started arriving. The welcome snacks look pretty and tasted refreshing.
The starter was raw beef and mugwort. Not fans of raw beef in general, but we were impressed by the lightness of flavour in this beef. The optional abalone was another delightful dish.
Lunch at Bicena Seoul – Main Courses
A piece of sea perch was delicately cooked till just right and with a crisp skin. The accompanying sauce really enhanced the fish. We could have eaten two more portions of this.
The final part of the standard main course of the meal would have rice, soup and a selection of side dishes. We were glad to have opted for the optional beef ribs as these were served at the same time as the rice. The meat had been skilfully separated from the bone and it was easy to manoeuvre. This was one of the best Korean beef that we ate on this trip.
Desserts
The meal started to wind down after the dramatic main course. These items were intricately crafted and totally enjoyable. It was a classy end to a fine lunch at Bicena Seoul restaurant.
