Steak Sudaku : Killiney Road Japanese Steak Restaurant

Steak Sudaku is a small Japanese Steak Restaurant along Killiney Road. It serves Omi beef, said to be “the oldest and most historically renowned Wagyu in Japan.”

Killiney Road Japanese Steak Restaurant

The restaurant is situated along the row of shophouses along Killiney Road facing the former Singtel Comcentre (which by the way has been completely demolished and construction of the replacement is underway). Steak Sudaku is one of the many eateries along this row of shops. Popular restaurants Da Shi Jia Big Prawn Mee and Fook Kin restaurant are a few doors away.

The restaurant interior has an authentic casual Japanese restaurant vibes with simple wooden furniture and a large wall illustration of different types of steaks.

Steak Sudaku Menu

There are limited choices available on the Steak Sudaku Menu – mainly a few different types of steak and pork. We decided on a regular A5 Wagyu steak ($29.80 ++) and a Japanese pork steak ($24.80 ++).

Both meat dishes were served on sizzling hot plates. They looked promising. The pork was fine with a clean taste and some fat on the edges. However, we were less impressed with the Wagyu steak (picture below). We felt that the proportion of fat and sinewy bits was higher than what we were used to.

There were some sides available – salad ($2.80), soup ($2.80), rice ($3.80). We decided to try all three for a package price of $7. This is a picture of the soup, plain rice and cabbage salad.

In case you are visiting Steak Sudaku, remember to bring cash or have Paynow facility available as these are the modes of payment accepted here.
