A new sandwich pop-up called Don’t Runaway is coming to Joo Chiat. The pop-up, located at 320 Joo Chiat Road, is a project by The Platform Collective, the same team behind Champion Bolo Bun and Dickson Nasi Lemak.
Starting on 29 August 2025, Don’t Runaway will offer free sandwiches every weekend – from Fridays to Sundays, starting at 11:30 am until sold out. The menu will change weekly. The sandwiches are limited to one per person, per weekend. Customers can get a free sandwich by downloading the “Don’t Runaway” app and showing their in-app QR code.
The sandwiches are described as having “zero chill” and “bold” flavours. The sandwiches mentioned in the press release include “The Side Chick,” “Mortadel-lah,” “Jack & Loaded,” and “Beef Me Up”. “The Side Chick” is a take on a shawarma with smoked chicken. “Mortadel-lah” features mortadella and stracciatella cheese. “Jack & Loaded” is a plant-based option with smoky jackfruit chilli. “Beef Me Up” has yakiniku beef brisket, peanut butter, and a tallow chilli crunch.
Patrons can also receive free merchandise. On Fridays, the first 20 people in line will get a limited-edition keychain. On Saturdays, the first 20 will receive a tote bag, and on Sundays, the first 20 can get an iron-on patch.
