YARA – Modern Asian Comfort Food

YARA opened at The Initial Sama along Evans Road, presenting modern Asian cuisine with charcoal-grilled dishes and heritage-inspired flavours. Executive Chef Victor Loy’s menu features items such as Haricot Vert Kerabu at $18, Grilled Fish of the Day at market price, and Yu-Tang Clam Bowl at $24.
The 2,800-square-foot space seats 74 diners indoors and 15 outdoors.

Bibik Violet – Peranakan Cafe and Bakery

Bibik Violet, a Peranakan cafรฉ and bakery by Violet Oon Group, opens at Temasek Shophouse on Orchard Road. The 54-seater concept operates on a walk-in basis with QR code ordering. Menu items include breakfast options like Kaya Toast and Mee Siam, one-dish meals such as Nasi Lemak and Nyonya Laksa, plus handcrafted Nyonya kueh and nostalgic bakes.

Opening specials from 29 September to 30 November include 10% off first bills and a welcome treat. The first 30 customers during opening weekend (4 and 5 October) receive Singapore Kopi and Traditional Pandan Kaya.

Kko Kko Na Ra OG Korean Fried Chicken to Takashimaya


Kko Kko Na Ra opens an express concept at Takashimaya, bringing its signature Korean fried chicken to Orchard Road. Founded by Chef-Owner Eon Lee seventeen years ago, the brand’s Ma Neul Gan Jang (Soy Garlic Fried Chicken) uses a glaze made from hand-crushed garlic and 41 premium Korean ingredients. Fried chicken portions range from $10 for four pieces to $36 for 16 pieces. Chicken Bento Boxes start from $15 and include rice, kimchi, and pickled radish. New menu items include Fluffy Egg Bread, Giant Green Pepper Japchae, Jeju Premium Abalone Porridge at $15, and Cheese Kimchi Pancake at $15.

Firefry – Thai Grab-and-Go Concept

Firefry is a Thai grab-and-go concept introduced in Singapore by SimYee Holdings, the company behind Soi Thai Soi Nice and Pratunam. Thai bentos start from $6.80, with options including pineapple rice or Mama noodle base paired with proteins such as grilled chicken thigh, fried chicken cutlet, or fried dory fish. The Royal Bento features fried chicken wings and fried dory fish. Snacks include Fried Banana, Fried Sweet Potato, and Paprika Potato Wedges, alongside Thai Milk Tea and desserts like Mango Sticky Rice.

IM JAI by Pun Im – Creative Casual Thai Dishes

IM JAI by Pun Im at Icon Village in Tanjong Pagar is founded by Chef Vincent Pang. He trained at Le Cordon Bleu and worked at Michelin-starred Wana Yook in Bangkok. The restaurant serves creative Thai cuisine. Signature dishes include Crispy Cloud Egg at $16.80, Grilled River Prawns at $39.80, and Signature Duck Confit Red Curry at $25.80. The IM JAI Bento at $18.80 features the four cornerstones of Thai cuisine: spicy, sour, sweet, and herbaceous.

Po at The Warehouse – Nanyang Heritage

Po, the flagship restaurant at The Warehouse Hotel, has launched a new menu focusing on Singaporeโs Nanyang heritage. The menu draws on Chinese, Malay, Indian, Eurasian, and Peranakan culinary traditions that evolved through local ingredients and cross-cultural exchange. The restaurantโs signature Popiah roll remains a central feature.
Dishes are made from scratch using traditional techniques. Starters include Ikan Kerabu, featuring yellowtail cured with calamansi, and Samsui Chicken, a classic 1900s dish with poached boneless chicken served with scallions and crispy ginger. Others are Gobi 65, fried cauliflower in a house masala, and Puyuh Panggang, grilled quail with layered ginger flavours and sambal.

Main dishes highlight heritage recipes like Singgang Serani, a Eurasian fish stew, and Sotong Masak Hitam, a Peranakan squid dish in its ink. The menu also revives Babi Tohay with Iberico pork and Itek Sioh, duck confit with tamarind sauce.

Somma – Vendemmia

Somma presents Vendemmia, a seasonal menu running until 7 December that celebrates grape harvest traditions. The six-course dinner menu costs $268 and features dishes such as Indigenous Mushrooms Broth made with eight varieties cultivated by Singapore mycological farm Bewilder, Hand-Dived Scallop with fermented beef garum, and Ditali pasta cooked in Parmigiano whey. The Milk-Fed Lamb is served on an amazake base with Decana del Comizio pears and flowers kimchi.
Add-on experiences include Spaghettone with mantis shrimp and Ossetra caviar at $68, and the Somma Cheese Experience at $52 conducted in the wine cellar.

The menus honour Singapore’s evolution through dishes reflecting pivotal eras in the nation’s history. The seven-course lunch menu costs $148 and features items such as Braised Golden Flower Crab Broth and Seared A4 Kagoshima Wagyu Beef. The seven-course dinner menu at $188 includes Squid Ink Honeycomb Obsiblue Prawn and Braised Wagyu Brisket with Dang Shen. Chefs’ meet and greet sessions take place on 8 and 31 October.

Edge at Pan Pacific Singapore presents Tastes of the Australian Outback from 14 October to 9 November, developed in partnership with Indoguna Singapore. Executive Chef Andy Oh’s buffet highlights premium Australian produce including freshly shucked Tasmanian Oysters, Poached Whole Rainbow Trout, and Teochew-style Steamed Giant Australian Queensland Grouper.
The carving station features 65ยฐC Sous Vide Slow-roasted Australian Black Angus Beef, Slow-roasted Kangaroo Leg marinated in Taylor Port Wine, and Australian Duck Bourguignon with Nashi Pear. The charcoal barbecue grill offers Grilled Olive-marinated Spatchcock with Roasted Parsnips and Pacific Mussels in Chardonnay Sauce.
As an Ambassador of Indoguna Singapore, Executive Chef Dayan Hartill-Law of Palette Restaurant in Gold Coast, Australia, will make a guest appearance at Edge on 14 October 2025.
