Affordable Omakase at Sushidan Parkway Parade

Sushidan opened its second outlet at Parkway Parade. The Tokyo-style sushi restaurant first opened in Singapore at Raffles City in late 2025. Michelin-starred Chef Hiroyuki Sato leads the brand. Sushidan positions itself as an affordable dining destination, with omakase courses starting at $19.90.

Sushidan Parkway Parade

Sushidan is located within a lively new food cluster in Parkway Parade, near the main entrace of the mall. The new restaurant features an intimate, wooden-toned dining counter. Diners sit directly opposite the team of chefs. There are also a few regular dining tables that can accoomdate small groups and families.

There are standard omakase sets on the menu ranging from $19.90 to $34.90.

A la carte items on the menu include appetizers, sushi, sashimi and handrolls. Below are pictures from the digital menu.

What Is Included in the $19.90 Goshoku Aburi Set?

I ordered the entry-level Goshoku Aburi Set ($19.90).

Starters

Three starter dishes were served together:

• Chawanmushi: a standard smooth, steamed egg custard.
• Chef’s Appetizer: a side of wakame seaweed, diced raw fish, and cucumber dressed in a tangy sauce.
• Mini Udon: thick wheat noodles served cold in a light dashi broth, topped with crunchy tenkasu tempura flakes.

Aburi Sushi

The main course was five pieces of seared nigiri sushi.

Seared Akaebi: The large red prawn received a light torching, which brought out the natural sweetness of the seafood and gave the sushi a smoky aroma.

Seared White Fish / Engawa: A delicate cut of white fish with charred score marks along the top surface.

Seared Salmon: The flame torch caramelised the fish fat, giving the fish a very soft and light texture.

Seared Akami: A cut of seared lean tuna.

Sweet Inari: A sweet tofu skin pocket.

Handroll & Soup

To round off the meal, the chef served a Negitoro Handroll in a wooden holder. The crisp nori sheet wraped around seared tuna belly and other ingredients. There was a very nice mix textures and layers of tastes.

A bowl of warm miso soup was served with the handroll.

Good Food Good Value

The $19.90++ price point made the meal a good-value one. Every item of the set meal was enjoyable. The sushi and handroll were of good quality and delectable. Other items on the menu are also reasonably priced. I would certainly return to Sushidan.
