Yun Ga Traditional Korean Restaurant 윤가 is a new restaurant in Katong V. Yun Ga is part of the Ju Shin Jung Korean Restaurant Group, which has gained a loyal following with both Singaporeans as well as Korean expats in Singapore. Their specialty is Korean BBQ Grill but they also have a good range of popular Korean dishes.
We have visited 주신정 Ju Shin Jung Guillemard and enjoyed our meal there. There was a Ju Shin Jung East Korean Charcoal BBQ Restaurant in Raintree Cove. When Raintree Cove was closed to make way for redevelopment, the restaurant took a space in Katong V along East Coast Road and used the name 윤가 Yun Ga, which would avoid the confusion as to whether the restaurant in Guillemard Road or the one in East Coast is the “Ju Shin Jung East” outlet.
Yun Ga took up quite a big space on the second level of Katong V. The decor is simple but the place is well equipped for barbecuing at each table.
Yun Ga Traditional Korean Restaurant Menu
The menu offers a variety of beef, pork and seafood for BBQ. Steamboat sets for sharing are available. There are also traditional soups, hot plate dishes as well as favourites such as Korean pancakes and bibimbab. There is also an a la carte buffet as well as reasonably priced lunch specials. Photos of random sections of the menu are below.
Dinner at Yun Ga
We went to Yun Ga Korean Restaurant looking for something quick and simple for dinner. We ordered the Stone Bowl Rice with Beef ($16) and the Soy Bean Soup ($12). The Soup came with a complimentary bowl of Steamed Egg. A bowl of steamed rice was $2.50.
An array of side dishes soon was served and we did not have to wait long before the main items arrived.
The Stone Bowl Rice was nicely presented. The rice was topped with colorful vegetables and an egg. The server would add the sauce and mix up the ingredients in the bowl at the table.
The soup was served piping hot and was full of ingredients. It was light but tasty and went well with plain rice. The fluffy steamed egg was rather plain when eaten on its own but was quite enjoyable when a little sauce was added to it.
We wanted a simple dinner but ended up eating quite a lot at Yun Ga Traditional Korean Restaurant 윤가. The food was not bad and the portions were fairly generous. The serice was good and the prices are reasonable. Yun Ga is a nice comfortable spot in the East for affordable Korean food.

I have been a loyal customer for the past 15 years of Jung Shin Ju (west branch) and later move to the east (coast park) and now we continue to follow them to Yun Ga (Katong V). We simply love having our lunch or dinner there. Good food, good service and very reasonable pricing. Highly recommended for those who want an authentic experience of Korean food.
