Anti:dote Set Lunch is the perfect prescription for those looking for an affordable set lunch deal in a stylish dining space right in the heart of the city. Lunch Matters at Anti:dote is the new lunch menu of the hip cocktail bar of Fairmont Singapore. The new menu features a $28++ 2 course set lunch.
The award winning cocktail bar located in Raffles City is well known for their afternoon tea set and progressive craft cocktails. However, we somehow just ended having lunch there. We had lunch there last year (see our post here.) We liked the ambience and the professional service but thought the food was not too remarkable. Anti:dote introduced a new lunch menu recently and we were tempted by their attractively priced $28 set lunch.
Lunch Matters at Anti:dote – New Menu
The new menu Lunch Matters at Anti:dote is a simple one page menu. There are a few starters to choose from, a limited selection of main courses and a daily dessert. The starters are priced at $10 to $16 and the mains from $16 to $29.
The 2 course Anti:dote Set Lunch at $28 seems like quite an attractive proposition. The set allows you to choose 2 items from a short list of soup, salad, mains and dessert.
Anti:dote Set Lunch
Sometimes we made choices based on how we thought the food would look like for Instagram. However, for the lunch at Anti:dote we were just ordinary patrons ordering what really liked to eat that day. Both of us ordered the rather dull looking Wild Mushroom Soup as the starter for the two course set lunch.
It is hard to make mushroom soup look good. The Wild Mushroom Soup at Anti:Dote looked like what we expected it to be – dull in appearance. It had thick porridge-like consistency and was rich and full of earthy flavour. Average look but great personality.
To make sure that there would be something for the camera, Anti:dote served bread with butter that came in a toothpaste tube. Their warm bread was very good.
Anti:Dote Main Courses
We chose the Beer-braised Pork Belly Slider and the Char-grilled Beef Wrap for the mains. Both came with salad and fries on the side.
The Beer-braised Pork Belly Slider was delicious. The thick-cut braised pork belly was juicy and flavourful. This is a dish that will surely contribute to the beer belly.
The char-grilled beef sliced thin and rolled up with vegetables and other ingredients was an average dish. The spicy shoyu dressing made it a bit more interesting.
We did not have dessert but had coffee to round off our lunch. The coffee was good.
We had well prepared food and good quality service. For a weekday lunch in a stylish place in the heart of the city, the Anti:dote Set Lunch is a very good option.
