Pizza Express Duo Galleria is one of four restaurants that the pizza empire has set up in Singapore so far. Pizza Express has more than 500 outlets worldwide. Our first impression when we arrived at Pizza Express Duo Galleria was an admiration of the clever use of space by the interior designers. The restaurant occupies a corner space at the Duo Galleria. The outdoor area looks like a curved sliver of pavement. But they managed to squeeze a lot of tables into the space and make it look good as well. Likewise, the interior was simple but they made use of the large windows to create a sunny, attractive space.
Unfortunately, our enthusiasm did not last long. Unlike the decor, the disposition of the server attending to us was less than sunny. Or it could be simply the case that we had no chemistry. We got by with the minimum of verbal communication and eye contact. Anyway, as you can imagine, pizzas are the main event in this restaurant. There are some pasta and other items. Here are pictures of some portions of the Pizza Express Duo Galleria Menu.
Pizza Express Duo Galleria Menu
We had a Classic Italian Antipasto ($26). It was a plate containing many things – flat bread, slices of sausage and prosciutto, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, olives and peppers. It was the most interesting dish of the day.
We tried a pasta dish – Garganelli Giardineria ($24). Despite its complex sounding name, it was a simple pasta dish. With vegetables and a blob of mozzarella, the taste of this was less than we had expected.
We selected the Lava Pizza ($24) as it was one with a star next to it on the menu. It was a simple, nice pizza with olives, mozzarella and fresh basil. The fresh basil saved the otherwise very plain pizza.
