Audrey Cafe Des Fleurs is a cafe in the Emquartier Bangkok mall. This is a new mall that opened in 2015. Across the road, on the other side of Sukhumvit Road is the older Emporium mall. They are both linked to the Phrom Phong BTS Skytrain station. The top floors of the Emquartier mall are dedicated to restaurants – in a zone named “the Helix Quarter”. So named because the floors are connected as a continuous spiral. We once had a mall built like this in Singapore, the Promenade Shopping Centre, next to the Paragon. Both buildings had merged to form the present Orchard Paragon. The Helix Quarter hosts a collection of restaurants over four floors. The Audrey Cafe Des Fleurs is one of them.
It was not easy deciding what to eat in Emquartier Bangkok. The 40 or so restaurants are spread out over the 6th to 9th floors of the Helix Quarter. Many types of cuisine are represented here : Western, Thai, steak, seafood, Korean etc. Audrey Cafe has many locations across Bangkok, each with a different design concept. The one at Emquartier is called Audrey Cafe Des Fleurs. It caught our eye with its decor – which was feminine, European, and floral. The style reminded us of Laura Ashley shop displays. A quick glance at the menu sealed the deal for us. The prices were friendlier than we expected. The nice table by the window with a good view was a bonus.
Audrey Cafe Des Fleurs Menu
The menu at Audrey Cafe Des Fleurs contains a wide range of choices – Thai, Western, international. Here are pictures of some sample pages from the Audrey Cafe Des Fleurs menu.
The ham and cheese panini (170 baht) was a simple serving of toast with some French fries.
We also introduced some Thai flavour into our meal with the omelette with spicy herbs (110 baht) and grilled marinated pork wrapped with white noodle (170 baht). The omelette was perked up by the fresh mint leaves, chilli and other herbs as well as the sauce.
The final dish reminded us of char siew cheong fun in Cantonese restaurants. Not bad but rather bland in taste.
The total cost of our meal at Audrey Cafe Des Fleurs including an orange juice (95 baht) and a Singha beer (100 baht) was about 760 baht. Dining at Audrey Cafe Des Fleurs Emquartier was a pleasant experience. The food was decent and well presented. The mall and restaurant are both beautiful places. It would certainly be a place to go to for a simple meal or if we simply want a nice place to escape from the crowds of Sukhumvit.
