Popular Korean coffee chain Coffeesmith has a new cafe in Suntec City. A reason for Coffeesmith’s popularity must be that it has been featured in K-dramas like The Girl who sees Smells and It’s Okay, That’s Love. Coffeesmith in Suntec City is a nice spot to stop by for a relaxing cup of quality coffee. It also serves bingsu, cakes, sandwiches and even beer; and it is always open – 24 hours a day.
Coffeesmith in Suntec City
Located on level 2 of Suntec City, Coffeesmith occupies a narrow strip of shop space. Most of the shop is taken up by the food preparation area. There are only a few tables and bar counter in this part of Coffesmith Suntec. The dining space is cosy and atmospheric.
On the other side of the mall corridor, there is an open-concept dining space. That part of Coffeesmith in Suntec City is bright and spacious. It is a good place to sit and see the world passing by.
Good range of Food & Beverages
Coffeesmith promises rich, delightful coffee crafted from the finest Arabica beans. However, it offers quite a lot more than just quality coffee. They have a wide range of beverages – from herbal tea and milkshake to expresso martini and draft mojito beer. They also have cakes, pastries, salad and sandwiches.
Lunch at Coffeesmith Suntec
We thought we would grab a quick lunch at Coffeesmith in Suntec City. We ordered and paid at the counter for the Avocado Egg Open Sandwich and Coffee Set ($13.90) and Scrambled Egg Croissant ($10.90 with an add-on of $2.50 for Cafe Americano).
The wait for the food was longer than we had expected. We could see that the open sandwich was being meticulously assembled. It was perhaps 15 to 20 minutes after we placed our order when the buzzer signalled that our food and coffee were ready for collection.
The Avocado Egg Open Sandwich looked good but was otherwise quite ordinary. It was sort of like something a twelve year old boy might make for you on Mother’s Day or some other special occasion. The sandwich had all the right ingredients and was carefully put together. Considerable effort was expended to make the sandwich presentable. You could appreciate the work put in but having eaten the cold and rather bland sandwich, you would not be rushing out to sign the boy up for MasterChef Junior.
The Scrambled Egg Croissant was a much better choice. The soft scrambled eggs in between toasted buttery light croissant was good comfort food. The portion size was quite big and it was enjoyable. The coffee was good – aromatic and rich with a pleasant tartness and just a touch of bitterness.
Good Ambience & Assortment of F&B
Overall, we think that it is good to have another new Coffeesmith cafe in Suntec City. It offers the perfect ambience for relaxing with friends or colleagues or for watching people passing by. Aside from good coffee and so so sandwiches, the cafe also serves a good assortment of food and beverages at reasonable prices; and it is open round the clock.
