Named after Municipal Councillor, Dr J. Murray Robertson, Robertson Quay is one of three quays located along the Singapore River (the others being Boat Quay and Clarke Quay). The old riverside godowns and warehouses have been preserved and restored or incorporated into new developments. As is typical in Singapore, many of these restored buildings become homes to restaurants, cafes and bars, turning Robertson Quay into a vibrant dining and entertainment enclave. Stretched out along the river are buzzing bars as well as family friendly bistros, cosy cafes and intimate dinner restaurants. There are cafes that open as early as 7 am and quite a few restaurants in Robertson Quay which stay open till midnight.
