Dunman Char Siew Wanton Mee (德明叉烧雲吞面), one of the famous stalls in Dunman Food Centre, is now in Eunos. The wanton noodles stall with its special spicy chiili sauce has a stall in a HDB coffeeshop in Eunos Crescent.
A few months ago, Dunman Char Siew Wanton Mee (德明叉烧雲吞面) from Dunman Food Centre opened a stall in a coffeeshop at Block 7 Eunus Crescent, which is very near the Eunos MRT Station. The dining area of the coffeeshop is functional but it is quite spacious with many tables that are reasonably well spaced out.
The popular wanton mee stall operates from early in the morning and closes at about 3 pm in the afternoon. It now has a self-service system. You queue to order and pay; wait for your noodles to be prepared and take the food to your own table. The prices still start from $3.
The portion is quite generous for a bowl of noodles in Singapore at the price of $3. The noodles were served with a light broth and topped with char siew, wantons and vegetables. Red chili sauce is put on the side of the plate to allow you to mix it in according to preference. Similar to the chilli sauce of Eng’s Wantan Mee, the level spiciness of Dunman Char Siew Wanton Mee’ s chilli is also very high.
The noodles, which were thicker than the usual mee kia, were nicely cooked. They were enjoyable with the savoury flavourful broth. The char siew was average but the wantons with meat fillings and slippery skins were quite good. Mix a bit of the hot and spicy chilli sauce in and the result would be a rather exciting dish with different yet complementary tastes. Just be warned that the chilli sauce is really super super spicy.
