Sanook Kitchen – affordable Thai Takeaway

Sanook Kitchen is a casual diner offering a good variety of Thai dishes at reasonable prices. It has outlets in malls in various parts of Singapore. During times when we are asked to #StayHomeforSG and #WFH, Sanook Kitchen is a convenient option for affordable Thai takeaway.

Sanook Kitchen has outlets in a number of malls – including Bedok Mall, Eastpoint, Tampines 1, Parkway Parade, Jurong Point, Northpoint City, West Mall and Suntec City (not all of them remain open during the “Circuit Breaker”). The Muis Directory lists those outlets which are halal-certified eating establishments.

Sanook Kitchen Menu

We had eaten at Sanook Kitchen Parkway Parade. You can read about our visit and see pictures of sections of the menu in our earlier post – Sanook Kitchen – affordable Thai restaurant in Parkway Parade.

Sanook Affordable Thai Takeaway

We went to Sanook Parkway to order a Chicken Olive Fried Rice ($5.90), Stir Fried Chicken ($5.90) and Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables with Mushroom ($5.90). GST would be added to the bill.

Sanook Kitchen Bill

We were told that the food would be ready for collection in about 15 minutes. That was just nice for a walk to the pharmacy to check on the availability of masks and vitamin C.

Even though the food was packed in regular plastic containers, they looked quite nice.

The Chicken Olive Fried Rice was good. There was quite a substantial of portion of chicken. It had the authentic Thai dish taste.

The stir fried chicken was tangy and spicy. The spiciness overwhelmed. It was not a dish which we enjoyed. The tongue was still numb long after the meal was over.

The vegetable dish was simple and good. The dish had quite a lot of sauce and would be nice when eaten with plain steamed rice. The greens were fresh and crunchy. Strips of carrots, baby corns and mushrooms added colour and texture to the dish.

Decent Thai Food

Sanook offers a good variety of Thai dishes at reasonable prices. It is decent Thai food – a notch up from the instant tom yum noodles we cook for ourselves. As long as you are not expecting gourmet Thai food, Sanook Kitchen will be a good option for affordable Thai takeaway.
