Hawkerman is a trendy casual diner serving popular hawker fare. Now part of the Tenderfresh Group, Hawkerman has an interesting collection of street food – from fried chicken and nasi lemak to Hokkien noodles and popiah. New bento sets starting from $9.90 are also available for takeaway and delivery.
Hawkerman Menu
We had visited Hawkerman at Singpost on several occasions. You can read about one of our first visits to The Hawkerman at SingPost Centre to see some of the food they had on their menu. Their current menus can be viewed on their website.
The new introduction for takeaway includes DIY Popiah Party Set from Good Chance Restaurant and several bento sets. The bento sets allow you to savour different combinations of their dishes – such as Cheesy Popcorn & Chicken Bolognese; Mala Mayo Breaded Fish & Egg Fried Rice; Fried Chicken Chop & Hokkien Mee.
Hawkerman Bento
We ordered a Hawkermasn Bento ($11.90) and Hawaiian Chicken Teriyaki Fried Rice Bento ($9.90). Currently, for those who buy direct at their stores there is discount of 10% for 2 Bento sets and 20% for 4 Bento sets.
The Hawkermasn Bento comprised Fried Chicken Chop, 60s Hokkien Mee, Carrot Cake with Homemade XO sauce and Popiah Fillings. You get all the good old taste of popular hawker food in this bento.
The chicken was crispy and delectable and the Hokkien mee had nice flavour and a slightly smokey aroma. The best item was the carrot cake – very delicious.
Hawaiian Chicken Teriyaki Fried Rice Bento consisted of Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken, Egg Fried Rice, Coleslaw and Soy Lava Egg. This set is not as interesting as the Hawkerman Bento.
The chicken and fried rice were nice but not very special. The lava egg was a nice touch. The best item was the coleslaw – rich, creamy, sweet and slightly tangy. We were happy that they gave quite a large portion of coleslaw.
Variety & Convenience
When you have many mouths to feed and there are diverse food preferences, Hawkerman may be a solution. They offer variety and convenience. You can call and collect or order through one of the food delivery platforms. Their new bento sets are affordably priced.
