Craftsmen Specialty Coffee is an independent cafe for good coffee and brunch. The local chain now has an online shop for islandwide delivery and several physical stores. Craftsmen Specialty Coffee Novena is one of its popular outlets in a convenient location.
Craftsmen Specialty Coffee
Craftsmen Specialty Coffee is one of the places we like to go for a coffee break. We had been patronising Craftsmen Specialty Coffee Siglap V over the years. There are now Craftsmen Specialty Coffee outlets in Eastwood, Holland Village, Clarke Quay Central, Mohamed Sultan and Novena.
Craftsmen Specialty Coffee Novena is in Goldhill Centre at Thomson Road. It is located in a road level shophouse facing United Square and is within a very short walk from the Novena MRT Station.
The cafe has the “industrial look” but is bathed with natural light.
Craftsmen Specialty Coffee Menu
Craftsmen Specialty Coffee menu is now quite extensive. Besides the usual all day breakfast items, there are burritos, pasta, burgers and mains like pork chop and steak.
Below are pictures of pages on the menu of Craftsmen Specialty Coffee Novena.
We visited Craftsmen Specialty Coffee Novena recently and ordered the Grilled Conrnfed Chicken Thigh ($24), Latte ($5), Iced Long Bliack ($6) and Ondeh Ondeh Cake ($8.90). There was no service charge but GST would be added to the bill.
Grilled Cornfed Chicken
The Grilled Cornfed Chicken Thigh came with steak fries and salad. The portion was quite substantial. The chicken had nice textures – crispy skin and moist tender meat. The sauce, with garlic and other herbs, was rich and flavourful and enhanced the enjoyment of the chicken.
Coffee
Both the iced long black and hot latte were were good. The iced coffee was flavourful and refreshing. It was not too acidic and had a nice fruity aroma. The latte was smooth with a good balance of taste and texture.
Ondeh Ondeh Cake
The slice of cake was big. It was a fairly standard ondeh ondeh cake, which had become quite common recently. It was not exceptional but was something enjoyable with good coffee.
Coffee is still the Specialty
The coffee at Craftsmen Specialty Coffee is consistently good. Whether hot or cold, the coffee is still the main reason to visit Craftsmen Specialty Coffee. The cakes there are not very special but with the extensive menu, it should not be difficult to pick a nice dish. The grilled chicken we tried was rather good and if that is representative of the food they are offering, we may just visit Craftsmen Specialty Coffee more often.
