Singapore’s vibrant dining scene is set to welcome a new haven for Southern Italian cuisine infused with the rustic charm and vibrant flavours. Award-winning ilLido Group has announced the upcoming launch of Sospiri, an authentic Southern Italian restaurant and rooftop bar slated to open its doors on 1 July 2024.

ilLido Group’s new restaurant is located in IOI Central Boulevard Towers, a gleaming new office landmark in Marina Bay. Sospiri promises an authentic dining experience that celebrates the rich culinary traditions of Southern Italy. Diners can expect sun-drenched produce, aromatic herbs, and the finest olive oil woven into every dish, from handmade pastas to succulent seafood.
Southern Italian Delights
Led by Michelin-starred Chef Matteo Ponti, who joined ilLido Group in 2021, Sospiri’s menu will showcase the freshest seasonal ingredients. Antipasti highlights include Battuta Di Tonno – bluefin tuna tartare dressed with Amalfi lemon, salmoriglio sauce, and Pantelleria capers. Another will be Insalata di Frutti di Mare, a seafood salad brimming with calamari, prawns, mussels, clams, and octopus, tossed with refreshing Caroselli cucumber and red Tropea onions.
Pasta lovers will be spoilt for choice with a selection of both tomato-based and more adventurous options, using squid ink or other regional specialties. Pappardelle con Funghi e Bottarga, featuring homemade pappardelle with earthy cardoncelli mushrooms and flavourful tuna bottarga is one of the standouts. Spaghetti di Gragnano alla Colatura di Alici, a classic dish of spaghetti from Gragnano tossed with Sicilian red prawns and a savory anchovy sauce from Cetara is a tempting option.
No Southern Italian meal is complete without a sweet ending. Sospiri offers classic desserts like Diplomatica, a traditional Italian treat. Their signature Sospiri al Pistacchio is a delicate angel cake puffs filled with a creamy Bronte pistachio chantilly.
Sospiri Rooftop Bar
Guests can embark on a further sensory adventure by stepping out to the 60-seat Sospiri Rooftop Bar. This open-air haven offers breathtaking views of Marina Bay Sands, the perfect backdrop to savour a curated selection of Italian bar snacks. Think Truffle Stracciatella, Mortadella Schiacciata, and Bruschetta alongside Pizzutelli tomatoes drizzled with bottarga. All that can be enjoyed with crafted Italian cocktails amidst lush greenery.

Reservations for ilLido new restaurant Sospiri are now open online. With July slots said to filling up fast, diners are encouraged to book their table early to be among the first to experience a taste of Southern Italy in the heart of Singapore.
