Moon Moon Food JEM is a new outlet of the popular Taiwan Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant 雙月. After they opened a first Singapore outlet at Ngee Ann City, a second was soon added at JEM in Jurong East. Another one, Moon Moon VIVO City, is forecasted to open on 20 April 2025.

Taiwan Michelin Bib Gourmand Restaurant
The Moon Moon Food Taiwan flagship store was awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand title every year since 2018. These titles are proudly listed at the front of the new Moon Moon JEM Singapore outlet.

Moon Moon Restaurant at JEM

The new outlet at JEM is conveniently located on level one. It is a large spacious restaurant, which we felt had similar vibes as a Din Tai Fung restaurant.

Pork innards are a feature in the Moon Moon Food JEM menu and some sample exhibits are on display.

Moon Moon Food JEM menu
There is a wide selection of food available. Here are some sample pictures of the menu. We ordered several items from different parts of the menu – shallot oil noodles ($12.80), braised sea bass ($17.80), stir-fry Chinese yam with mixed vegetables ($12.80), dried tofu ($1.50), braised egg ($1.20) and cordyceps flower chicken soup ($16.80).

Soup, Noodles and Delicacies
The kitchen at Moon Moon Food JEM was very efficient. Several items – the soup, noodles, egg and vegetables showed up a few minutes after we placed our order. The egg and vegetables were quite ordinary. We will focus on the few that we like the most.

Moon Moon Chicken Soup
This was probably the best tasting as well as value for money dish at Moon Moon Food JEM. A tasty soup was served with a mound of chicken and vegetables. With a clear and very slightly herbal taste, the soup was pleasant and felt healthy. There were large chunks of chicken which had most of their flavours boiled out of them. But still useful to have for those seeking to meet their daily protein intake.

The shallot oil noodles were beautifully presented. The portion was small but the noodles were springy and the sauce was delicious. One order each of noodles and the chicken soup will probably be enough as a meal for one person.

We thought that the dried tofu was value for money. The serving was very generous and the sauce was tasty. We would happily order this again on our next visit and skip the egg.

Braised Sea Bass
The most expensive dish we tried on our visit was the braised sea bass. This dish was served last but unfortunately, it was not a case of saving the best for last. The sea bass had a mildly muddy taste which we were not accustomed to.

Overall, we think the noodles and soup combination would make a simple tasty meal for one. With ample seating available, solo diners can consider dining here without feeling claustrophobic.
