What we ate

We ordered Mutton Dum Biryani ($13.90), Chicken Tikka Masal ($14.90), Tandoori Paratha Lacha ($3.90), Masala Tea ($3.20) and Fresh Lime Juice ($3.90). 9GST and service charge would apply to the bill.

The Mutton Dum Biryani arrived in a metal serving dish, with fragrant basmati rice and spiced mutton pieces tightly pressed inside. The dish was accompanied by a side of cooling onion raita and a small bowl of spicy gravy. The mutton was tender and lacked any strong, gamey odour. The dish was a delectable version of the classic dum biryani.

The Chicken Tikka Masala would serve as an ideal accompaniment to rice or bread. The boneless chicken pieces were well grilled and then simmered in a thick gravy. The curry had a creamy texture that balanced tangy tomato with aromatic spices.

The Tandoori Lacha Paratha was an effective vehicle for scooping up the masala gravy. The multi-layered baked whole wheat flatbread had crisp exterior with flaky layers inside. We enjoyed the paratha bread with the chicken tikka masala.

Good Indian Restaurant in Marine Parade

The service was courteous and friendly, and staff attended promptly to orders. The waiting time was fairly short. Water was also served without any request. Given the wide variety of items on the menu, including specialised dosas and regional starters, multiple visits are necessary to sample the full selection. The new restaurant comfortably accommodates families, solo diners and groups looking for a clean and pleasant environment to enjoy good Indian food. The spacious setup also means it is highly suitable for parents with prams or elderly diners who require accessible seating arrangements.

Ultimately, Nandhana’s Restaurant provides an excellent option for patrons seeking a good Indian restaurant in Marine Parade, removing any need to travel to Little India for an authentic meal of Indian dishes.
