DDD Cafe Seoul stands out amongst the many cafes that we have seen. The spacious cafe in Seoul has many seating options including a king sized bed with an inviting sign to sit down and drink. Its long opening hours from 11am to midnight also makes it a convenient place to meet at odd hours.

Trendy Cafe in Seongsu, Seoul
We discovered DDD Cafe in Seongsu Seoul by chance. This is not a cafe that can be encountered while walking about the shopping streets of Seongsu (picture below). It is located on level 4 of an unnamed building.

We chanced upon it while taking the lift up to level 9 where Spanish restaurant Esmero is located. We were on the way there for lunch. A couple got off the lift at level 4 and we caught a glimpse of DDD Cafe Seongsu. In an instant we decided that this was the place we would drop in for coffee after lunch. Here is a picture of the building directory. It is a small building where each tenant (mostly f&b) takes up an entire floor.

DDD Cafe Seongsu
It is easy to take nice pictures at this cafe. The large windows bathe the place in bright natural light. The eclectically styled furniture is arranged around clusters so that diners can choose the type of seating and comfort they prefer. For regular cafe style tables and chairs, there are many of them to choose from. Those near the windows can have a view of the bustling Seongsu streets below.

The living room style zones (picture above) seem to have the best blend of comfort and practicality.

The bedroom zone looked the most inviting. Knowing that some visitors may not be sure the bed can be used, a sign assures them that sitting and drinking on the bed OK!

Coffee and Snacks
The food and drinks preparation area is situated at one end of the restaurant. Food choices are limited to cakes and pastries. This is mostly a coffee and snack place rather than a full service cafe.

Our Coffee Break at Seongsu

For our coffee break at Seongsu, Seoul, we had cappuccino and a financier. We sat at a strategically placed sofa that provided a good vantage point in the cafe. The coffee and snack were good but not exceptional as the coffee standard in Seoul is very high.

The most memorable feature of this cafe was clearly not the coffee but the uniquely attractive decor. From some angles, it looks like a furniture showroom!
