Bloomhouse by Little Farms,Tembusu and Picnic Basket: New Restaurants at Botanic Gardens

Bloomhouse by Little Farms, Tembusu and Picnic Basket are three new food outlets that have opened in the heart of the Botanic Gardens. Taking over the spaces that used to be occupied by The Halia Restaurant, The Villa and the kiosk named Provisions, these are located near the Orchid Garden, a highlight of the Singapore UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Tembusu Botanic Gardens – New Peranakan Next to Ginger Garden

Tembusu Botanic Gardens has replaced the former Halia Restaurant. According to its website, it is a straits dining house at Singapore Botanic Garden. It has retained the warm rustic look of the former Halia restaurant.

Their kitchen is said to draw “… from the culinary traditions of the Straits — Malay, Peranakan, and the melting pot of Southeast Asian flavours — reimagined with ingredients and inspiration from the Botanic Gardens that surround us“. It sounds like an interesting Peranakan-centric restaurant, which is quite appropriate given its location next to the Ginger Garden of the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

Tembusu Botanic Gardens Menu

Here are pictures of the Tembusu restaurant menu. It is marked as a “soft launch” menu, so modifications may be expected after the launch in early August 2026. Tembusu Botanic Gardens is an all-day dining restaurant and so the menu covers items ranging from kaya bread with soft boiled eggs for breakfast to nasi lemak and claypot rice for brunch. Local Nanyang brews such as kopi O and teh C are available on the drinks menu.

The Bloomhouse by Little Farms at Singapore Botanic Gardens

Across the path from Tembusu is a larger restaurant space that used to be occupied by The Villa, a venue for events. We have seen it used for corporate events and weddings. Now, the 483 square metre space in the Singapore Botanic Gardens is occupied by The Bloomhouse by Little Farms. This new food cluster is said to offer four f & b experiences: Ginger Terrace and Palm Alcove for all-day dining, Picnic Basket by Little Farms for grab-and-go picnics, and Orchid Solhouse—a venue for corporate gatherings and private dining events. This is probably the largest outlet by Little Farms which has many outlets across the island such as Little Farms Holland Village.

The dining areas of the restaurants are Palm Alcove, an indoor dining area and Ginger Terrace, an outdoor terrace area. We have not dined there but can imagine that dining among the lush foliage of the Gardens will have a laid back, resort feel.

Orchid Solhouse

A more formal entrance leads the way to Orchid Solhouse, a dedicated venue for corporate gatherings, private dining and special occasions.

Picnic Basket by Little Farms

On one end of the Bloomhouse building is a kiosk known as Picnic Basket by Little Farms. This is a place to buy drinks and snacks to eat in the Gardens. There is a seating area here but there are park benches outside in front of the Orchid Garden.

How to get to the Bloomhouse by Little Farms and Orchid Solhouse Botanic Gardens

The new cluster of restaurants Bloomhouse, Tembusu and Orchid Solhouse are in the main section of the Gardens. The nearest access point is Tyersall Gate on Tyersall Road, a small quiet road that has some open surface parking. The path through the Gardens to get to restaurants is mostly unsheltered.
