Located on the ground floor of Leisure Park Kallang, Chef’s Playground offers a refreshing take on Euro-Japanese casual dining. The family-run eatery was founded by pharmacist owners who focus on preparing balanced, health-conscious meals. They avoid deep-frying, added monosodium glutamate (MSG), trans-fats, and nitrate-laden processed meats.

Chef’s Playground at Leisure Park Kallang

Chef’s Playground presents a bright, uncluttered storefront featuring warm timber tones. Inside, the dining area combines bright colour walls with neutral panelling, padded booth seating, and light wooden furniture.
The space has an inviting, unpretentious atmosphere suitable for quiet family meals or relaxed gatherings.
The kitchen emphasises grilled and baked dishes paired with balanced sides. The menu has sections for Teppan/Grill/Bake, Sando, Pizza and Pasta. Rice, Appetizer, Salad and Soup are also available.
What We Tried
During our visit, we ordered two signature main courses. Both were good comfort food without heavy oil or artificial seasoning. The natural flavours of the fresh ingredients come through clearly.
Small glasses of refreshing palette cleansers were served as welcome drinks.

Wafu Chicken ($13.90)
The Wafu Chicken featured a whole baked chicken thigh cooked to a golden brown. The oven-baking process ensured the retention of moisture inside the meat while keeping the skin crisp.

The chicken was served with thick roasted potato wedges and fresh salad drizzled with roasted sesame dressing balances the savouriness. A small side dish held a savoury-sweet, soy-based glaze for dipping.
Pesto Chicken ($13.90)

The Pesto Chicken was a similar baked chicken thigh topped with herb-packed pesto. The dish came with a scoop of smooth mashed potatoes and salad.
