Marine Cove at East Coast Park reopens. The new Children’s Playground there makes Marine Cove an attractive family-oriented destination. There will be a number of new restaurants and cafes in the spot where the popular McDonald’s East Coast Park used to be. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at Marine Cove is the first to open its doors. The cafe was teeming with people of all ages when we visited it on a weekday evening.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at the just re-opened Marine Cove at East Coast Park is a family friendly restaurant. The casual cafe has a relaxed resort like atmosphere. It has a nice alfresco dining area with a great view of the brand new children’s playground and the seaside park. The air-conditioned dining area is fairly spacious, for a cafe, and attractively decorated. There is even a private dining room and a children’s play pen inside the restaurant.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at Marine Cove of course serves their gourmet tea, coffee and ice blended beverages. In addition to cakes and pastries, the cafe also serves hot meals. Below are photos of their kids menu and regular hot food menu.
We went to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at Marine Cove for dinner and ordered Fish and Chips ($13.50) and Chicken Alfredo Penne ($12). No GST or service charge would be added to the bill. The system is that you go up to the counter to order and pay. You will be given a number tag to place on your table. The food, together with the necessary utensils, will be served to you. The waiting time was a reasonable 15 to 20 minutes even though the place was very crowded.
The Fish and Chips were good. The fried fish was neither greasy nor soggy. It was better than expected, with moist and tender flesh beneath a perfect golden brown batter. The thin cut fries were crispy. The dish was enjoyable.
The Chicken Alfredo Penne looked pale and insipid. However, it was tasty. The pasta was cooked just right and the chicken was tender. The creamy cheesy sauce was delicious.
Swirl Frozen Yogurt operates out of the same premises as The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at Marine Cove. You can get customised yogurt sundaes for takeaway or to enjoy with your coffee and food at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
When we went to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at Marine Cove for dinner, we did not have high expectation. It was after all a cafe known more for their beverages. We further tempered our expectation on account of the very reasonable prices of the dishes. Both dishes we tried exceeded our expectation. We would be eating there again.

The chinese female staff here is not friendly at all. I should even say she is arrogant.
I was there and had my dog tied so that is is outside on the pathway.
She said that the dog is not even allowed on the pathway.
Dont most people go to the east coast with their pets either in the form of kids or animals?
It would seem that dogs are not allowed at any of the food outlets in Marine Cove, even in the non-air conditioned seating areas. Do check with the restaurants first if you are intending to go there with your dogs.
