Dinner at Hoshino Coffee Suntec City

Hoshino Coffee is a Japanese café chain well known for serving hand drip coffee and delectable soufflés. It is, however, more than just a coffee and dessert place. Hoshino Coffee serves Japanese-style cafe food like omelets, pastas, french toast and sandwiches. We found their Suntec City outlet to be a good spot for a casual dinner.

Hoshino Coffee Suntec City has the signature old world European theme decor. There are plenty of dark wood, ornate lamps and leather Chesterfield sofas. It is a cosy and comfortable place for a meal.

Hoshino Coffee Cafe Menu

Hoshino Coffee’s menu has an eclectic range of items. There are omelets, savoury soufflés and pancakes as well as sandwiches, pastas and curry rice. They also have a brunch menu and have introduced new items from time to time.

Lagsana & Teriyaki Chicken

We ordered two items for their new menu launched in Singapore earlier this year – Lasagna with Mini Souffle Pancake Plate ($18.80) and Teriyaki Chicken Steak Plate with Onsen Egg ($17.80). They came nicely presented and the portions were quite substantial. Both dishes had a generous helping of salad.

The Lasagna was not bad but not remarkable. The Soufflé Pancakes were like a cross between the traditional soufflé and a thick pancake. They were light and fluffy and very enjoyable.

The Teriyaki Chicken Steak was good. The chicken was tender and glazed with flavourful teriyaki sauce. The yolk of the onsen egg had a nice creamy texture and the egg was enjoyable eaten with steamed rice or used as a dip for the chicken.

Good Coffee

We could not go to Hoshino Coffee and nor order their hand drip coffee.  The specialty coffee, made with their in-house blend of Arabica roasted coffee beans, had a pleasantly sharp taste. It was a satisfying cup of good coffee.

Hoshino Coffee Suntec City has the nice Japanese cafe atmosphere and there is something in the menu for everyone, even for the kids. The prices are reasonable. Hoshino Coffee is a good pit-stop for mall shoppers – whether for a casual meal or for a good perk me up coffee.
