The Colony at The Ritz-Carlton Singapore is one of the most beautiful cafes we have visited and the buffet at Colony is one of the best in Singapore.

Colony Cafe and be seen from the grand lobby of The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. It looks beautiful and inviting with high skylights and warm lighting.

The interior is beautifully appointed. The furniture is eclectic but everything is elegant and appealing. Almost every table will get a view of the lush greenery outside the cafe.

 

Buffet at Colony – The Ritz-Carlton

Colony has ala carte menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails.  However, it is their buffets which are extremely popular.

We went for the lunch buffet at Colony and we thought it was one of the best buffets in Singapore. The current theme of lunch buffet at Colony is “A Trus Tatse of Singapore”.  It presents heritage cuisines through seven kitchens that showcase Chinese, Indian, Indonesian, Malaysian, Western and Singaporean dishes.

The Appetizers

The appetizers are varied and extremely alluring. One could have a very good meal just from the appetizers offered by Colony.

 

There are the usual fresh seafood station and sushi & sashimi station.

Their salad, sandwiches and antipasto were carefully laid out to present an alluring feast for the eyes.

Then there are shelves of cheeses, cold cuts and charcuterie.

There is also a live station where chefs prepare the local dishes of popiah and kueh pie tee to order.

The Mains

The choice of main items at the buffet of Colony is extensive. There are Western carvings, grill and rotisserie, pastas and Indian tandoori.

 

There are also Chinese delicacies including roast duck, rice wine chicken and steamed fish. Chicken rice char siew, satay, salted egg yolk chicken and sambal prawns are also on the menu.

Colony Buffet Desserts

The desserts spread at Colony’s buffet is just impossible to resist.

Besides trays of cakes, tarts, nyonya kuehs and all sorts of other desserts you will usually find at a good hotel’s buffet, there are special items like the Colony peanut wrap.

 

There are also chocolates, pralines and candies.

Drinks at Colony

The fruit juices and drinks like bandung and iced teas come in psychedelic colours.

 

Wines and champagnes are available, though they are not included in the price of the buffet.

The Colony offers a great buffet spread (the menus change from time to time) – all you can eat quality food attractively presented. The atmosphere, the service and the food are all top notch. We think it is definitely one of the best buffets in Singapore.
