Paris Baguette Bakery Café, which started as a small bakery in a town that is now part of North Korea, has thousands of outlets in many countries such as China, France, United States and Vietnam. One of the famous South Korean chain’s latest outlets is in Singapore’s Paya Lebar Quarter (PLQ). The new Paris Baguette Bakery Café in PLQ Mall is a retail store for good quality baked goods as well as a pleasant casual diner for cafe fare.
Paris Baguette Bakery Café in PLQ
Located on the ground level of PLQ Mall, the new Paris Baguette Bakery Café occupies quite a large space. Bright lighting and walls with off-white colour and white tiles make the shop feels bigger. The interior design is modern and stylish.
There is a variety of dining furniture of different shapes and sizes. The furniture makes the place more visually interesting and makes the cafe suitable for various occasions, for the solo diner as well as a group.
Menu of Paris Baguette PLQ
The scent of fresh bread is an inviting advertisement for the Paris Baguette Bakery Café. The bread and pastries on display also entreat you to go into the shop.
Besides baguette and other French-centric baked goods, there is an assortment of treats, some given a twist for the Asian palate – such as sweet red bean bread, yuzu cream bread and Hong Kong style bread soaked in egg and drizzled with condensed milk.
The bakery cafe also offers coffee and beverages and a wide range of gourmet sandwiches. Salad, pasta and rice dishes are also available. New items are added to the menu from time to time – like the recently introduced Cranberry Chicken Pastry Wrap Sandwich and Salmon Cream Cheese Croissant Sandwich.
Lunch at Paris Baguette Bakery Café
With its wide variety of food and long opening hours, Paris Baguette Bakery Café in PLQ Mall can be a suitable place for breakfast, brunch, tea breaks or a full meal. We had lunch there recently.
The Egg Mayo Croissant Sandwich ($6.90) looked like a cheap and good option. We made it a meal by paying a $7.50 top up for meal which included coffee and soup.
The Egg Mayo Croissant Sandwich was nice. We got all the major food groups for a balanced diet and the taste was not bad. There was no regret getting the soup. The wild mushroom cream soup was smooth and had depth of flavours. Although served in a paper bowl, it tasted as good as soup in restaurants where a bowl of soup alone would cost considerably more than our meal at Paris Baguette.
We also had the Asian Beef Bulgogi Rice ($9.90). It was heated up and served in a tray that reminded us of airline meal. The portion size was reasonable. The marinated beef stir-fried with onion and carrots was tasty and went well with the soft and fluffy steamed rice. It would be more like Singapore Airlines business class dish than a budget airline meal.
The coffee at Paris Baguette Bakery Café in PLQ Mall, both hot and cold, Paris Baguette Bakery Café was also good.
Nice Cafe for Dining-in & Takeaway
We enjoyed our lunch at Paris Baguette PLQ. We would go there again when we want a simple leisurely lunch. Paris Baguette Bakery Café in PLQ Mall has a trendy comfortable space and wide assortment of affordable food and beverages. The prices are reasonable. It is a good place to go for premium bread or takeaway meals as well as a nice cafe for dining-in any time of the day.
