Collin’s Lunch Promotion : 20% Off A la Carte Menu Weekdays

Collin’s lunch promotion that is currently on is the kind of lunch deal that we like. A straightforward 20% discount off the a la carte menu including drinks on Mon – Fri (11am to 5 pm; excluding public holidays). No complicated T & Cs. No eatery soup to make up a flimsy set lunch. We had a nice weekday lunch at Collin’s Westgate, made nicer with the lower prices.

Collin’s Westgate Outlet

According to the Collin’s website, it is “…. one of the most popular local brands in Singapore for quality and affordable western cuisine.” Collin’s currently has more than 10 restaurants all over Singapore including Changi T3, Marina Square, Great World and PLQ Mall.

Collin’s Westgate looks like a traditional steakhouse with its dark interior and serious wood-panelled decor. The large circular light fixture is a simple and attractive centrepiece. This Collin’s outlet at Jurong East takes over the space previously occupied by Paul. It has a convenient location, on the ground floor and next to the connection with JEM next-door.

Collin’s Lunch Promotion : 20% Off Ala Carte Menu

Apart from the nice decor we were also attracted by the large sign announcing the Collin’s Lunch Deal of 20% off the full a la carte menu. We also saw this deal featured on the Collin’s website. So it looks like a deal available across all their branches and not just at Collin’s Westgate. We are not sure how long this promo will last. Grilled Pork Ribs

For our lunch at Collin’s Westgate, we were attracted by the beautiful picture of Charcoal-Grilled Pork Ribs in the menu (picture below). It is described as a full slab, good for sharing. With a 20% discount, the $34 dish became a $27.20 dish for two persons, which sounded like good value for money. The portion of the pork ribs turned out to be indeed enough for two persons. But the meat was very plainly cooked and had to depend on the three sauces provided for flavouring. Our favourite sauce was the BBQ sauce which, when lathered on the ribs, made them taste more like the grilled ribs that we were expecting.

Sweet Potato Waffle Fries

We also ordered the Sweet Potato Waffle Fries ($7) because they looked so appealing in the menu. But when they were served they appeared as normal sweet potatoes without the criss cross waffle pattern. Slightly disappointed with the appearance, but all was forgiven when we tasted the nice sweetness of sweet potato fries. Better still when $7 was reduced by 20%.

Beer and Coffee

All the drinks items in the a la carte menu also enjoyed a 20% discount. Our Hoegarden beer ($8) and black coffee ($2) were accorded the same discount. Which made this one of the cheapest coffee available in a full service restaurant in Westgate mall and possibly the entire Jurong East area (during this Collin’s lunch promotion period).
