The PSGourmet Group’s second Jypsy outlet invites guests to savour contemporary Japanese cuisine while soaking in sea views at its picturesque East Coast Park location. Inspired by its coastal location, Jypsy Parkland Green offers a spacious outdoor dining terrace and an inviting indoor dining environment.
Jypsy at Parkland Green
When we first visited Jypsy Martin Road by PS.Cafe some 8 years ago, we were impressed by the stylish interior and said the “folks at PS.Cafe have once again pulled off another successful interior”. We must say they did it again at Jypsy Parkland Green.
Wicker chairs and wooden tables are stretched across a breezy outdoor terrace looking out to East Coast Park and the seaside. The terrace is a relaxed haven – open and welcoming.
Jypsy Parkland Green has a spacious indoor dining hall with soft furnishings in the brand’s signature indigo hues, and accented with bleached woods. The long dining area is framed by a bar on one end and an open kitchen at the other.
Glass walls bring the outdoors in, filling the dining space with natural light and views of the lush park and the sea. This connection to nature can make dining at Jypsy at East Coast Park feel extra special.
Menu of Jypsy Parkland Green
The menu of Jypsy Parkland Green caters to guests who want breakfast, brunch or a substantial meal for lunch or dinner. It includes items on the original Jypsy menu such as Jypsy Salmon Tacos and Nest of Fries. There are sandos, sushi, sashimi, pastas and tacos and a good selection of small plates and big plates for sharing. Below are pictures of the menu of Jypsy Parkland Green.
It also has an Outlet-Exclusive Brunch Menu for weekends and public holidays from 8 am – 4 pm only. The brunch dishes include Big Breakfast, Smoked Salmon Egg Benedict and Green Tea Soba Salad.
Sando, Omelette & Gyoya
With so much to choose from, we ended up with dishes what we would often gravitate to by instinct – dishes with eggs and anything with lobster bisque. We opted for Tamago Sando ($18), Jypsy Crab Omelette ($18) and Tiger Prawn & Crab Gyoza ($18).
Tamago Sando was fluffy creamy Japanese rolled omelette between brioche bread. The sandwich was topped by sliced egg with golden runny yolk. On the side, was a good helping of salad with a delicate dressing. It was a dish of simple ingredients, artfully prepared to produce a nice mix of flavours. A dish which evoked a sense of satisfaction and delight.
The Crab Omelette was a Japanese-style omelette with crab meat and dashi, sitting on top of spinach in a plateful of lobster bisque. Bright orange fish roe studded the omelette’s surface. The omelette had a slightly sweet and savoury taste and custardy texture. The lobster bisque was rich, creamy, and had a natural seafood sweetness. It was a dish that looked good and delivered on its visual promise.
Our final dish had more crab and more lobster bisque. The plumb Tiger Prawn and Crab Meat Gyozas had delicate skins with golden brown crispy edges, and juicy delectable filling. The rich sweetness of the lobster bisque harmonised perfectly with the gyozas’ savoury notes, making the dish the favourite of the meal.
