The new Little Farms Holland Village cafe and market has opened at the corner of Lorong Mambong and Lor Liput. This is the building where the former Crystal Jade Holland V outlet used to be located. Dim sum fans of Crystal Jade need not be disappointed. There is a brand new Crystal Jade Hong Kong Kitchen outlet in the new One Holland Village mall just across the street.
Little Farms Table at Holland V
From a small shop unit in Valley Point Shopping Centre that opened in February 2016, Little Farms the grocer has expanded to multiple locations in Singapore. More recently, it started opening restaurants as well with locations such as Valley Point, Joo Chiat and Serangoon Gardens. These Little Farms restaurants seem to have slightly different names. In Valley Point, it is known as Little Farms cafe, while in Joo Chiat it is known as Little Farms Bistro. At Tanglin Mall and now at Holland Village, the restaurant is referred to as Little Farms Table.
The Little Farms Holland Village restaurant is located on level 2, above the grocery and market area on the ground level. Access is up a narrow flight of steps. We did not see any lift access, so take note if access is an issue. Diners with young kids in prams may want to leave the prams in the car as ‘parking spaces’ for prams seem to be quite limited. Speaking of parking, that is no longer a problem at Holland V. With the opening of the new mall, a bright new underground carpark is now available very close to the shophouses.
As you can see, the new Little Farms Holland Village restaurant is bright and attractive. We especially like the area that seems to be set apart for bigger dining parties. We would specify this area if we are making a reservation in future for a group of 4 or more.
Little Farms Holland Village Restaurant Menu
Here are pictures of the Little Farms Holland Village cafe menu. It is a typical cafe style menu with breakfast foods available from opening till 2 pm. The other items are available from 11 am onwards.
Currently Little Farms Holland V has a weekday lunch special offer. Soup, choice of pasta and coffee for $28++ from 11 am to 4 pm.
Lunch at the New Little Farms Restaurant
For our lunch at the new restaurant, we decided to try the set lunch and also a salad from the a la carte menu
The soup of the day for the set lunch was pumpkin soup (picture above). Served with slices of sour dough, it was a good start to the meal.
Our choice of main course was spaghetti alle vongole. The pasta dish looked attractive with a fair quantity of clams with nice patterns on their shells. However we thought that the clam flavour seemed somewhat weak in this vongole dish. With the large number of clams, we had expected a pasta dish full of flavours. But we had a mild-mannered spaghetti dish instead.
The avocado, quinoa and feta bowl ($22++) looks pricey compared to the multiple items of the set lunch. But we won over by the many flavours and textures of this item. It also looked and tasted very healthy.
Finally, we had coffee, one of them was part of the set meal and the other was an add on. They were very well made and strong (in a good way). By the way, service at the new Little Farms restaurant at Holland Village was efficient and friendly which is something which makes us want to go back to try something else.
Little Farms Market
Now, we will take you on a quick tour of the new Little Farms Holland Village market. This outlet replaces the previous one at the nearby Holland Piazza building.
It is a small store but is packed full of meats, fresh produce and other essentials such as wine. Cheers!
