Eden Restaurant at Pullman Singapore Orchard is a welcoming glasshouse restaurant. This modern Asian dining spot provides affordable luxury through its weekday lunch sets, making it a lunchtime oasis in Singapore’s prime shopping area for discerning diners.
Eden Restaurant in Orchard
Located on Level 4 of the Pullman Singapore Orchard Hotel, Eden Restaurant features a contemporary glasshouse design. The furnishings are elegant yet relaxed, complemented by abundant greenery.
When the blinds are pulled back, the restaurant is flooded with bright natural light from the glass ceiling, creating a spacious and airy atmosphere reminiscent of Parisian rooftop dining (like L’Oiseau Blanc at the Peninsula Hotel Paris, albeit more affordable).
Menu of Eden Restaurant
Eden’s menu is a delightful fusion of familiar Asian flavours with interesting twists. There are playful takes on Singaporean classics like the Chilli Crab Bao Bun and Kam Heong Grilled Octopus. There are also simple traditional grilled items including Black Angus Beef and Australian Lamb. Below is a picture of the menu of Eden Restaurant for lunch and dinner.
The weekday set lunch menu (available Monday to Friday from 12 noon to 4 pm) offers a good value proposition. Diners can mix and match to create a 2 course set ($38), a 3 course set ($48) or 4 course set ($58). Most of the items on the main menu can be found in the weekday set lunch menu.
Weekday Set Lunch at Eden
We opted for the three-course set, and it did not disappoint.
The starters set the tone – a refreshingly healthy Curly Kale Salad with a zingy yuzu dressing, and the indulgent Eden Crab Otak Otak, served with delicate sakura prawns and a sweet coconut sauce. They looked great and were enjoyable.
The Pan-fried Black Cod was a delightful main course with a rich thunder tea broth, earthy mushrooms, crispy sakura shrimps and crunchy peanuts. The fish had a crisp skin, while the flesh remained tender and flaky. It had a delicate buttery flavour. The inclusion of thunder tea, a nod to Hakka cuisine, was an innovative twist that elevated the dish. Each element on the plate added a layer of complexity, creating a luxurious main course.
The Grilled Kurobuta Pork Tenderloin arrived with a crown of roasted garlic crumble and a smoky hoisin sauce. The meat was tender and on the whole it was a nice dish, but not as interesting as the fish.
The desserts were delightful. The Osmanthus Chia Seed Jelly with Mango was a light and refreshing dessert, while the Yam Orn Nee Gateau provided a touch of fusion indulgence – a moist yam sponge with rich coconut cream. It was a decadent way to finish our lunch experience at Eden.
