Adding to the growing number of trendy cafes in Joo Chiat, Crème & Cone is a delightful new ice cream parlour offering freshly churned gelato made with all-natural ingredients.
Crème & Cone Joo Chiat
Located in a shophouse near the junction of Joo Chiat Road and Joo Chiat Place, Crème & Cone has a vintage aesthetic with its black and white exterior and awning. Inside, the minimalist décor features light beige walls, a white ceiling, and black ceiling fans, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere.
Gelato & More
The café offers a tempting array of gelato flavours, from classic choices like Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Butterscotch to floral delights such as Honey Chrysanthemum and local favourites like Pulut Hitam. For those seeking dairy-free options, Grapefruit Strawberry Sorbet and Pineapple Coconut Sorbet are available. All gelato is freshly churned in small batches daily, ensuring optimal flavour and quality.
One of the highlights of Crème & Cone is their signature handmade and hand-rolled waffle cones, which come in three flavours: Original, Milo, and Pandan. The gelato can also be enjoyed in cups or with a waffle.
In addition to gelato, Crème & Cone offers a selection of beverages as well as pastries and cakes, providing a complete café experience.
Mao Shan Wang & Lychee Raspberry
We tried a scoop of Mao Shan Wang Durian ice cream ($6) in a cup and a scoop of Lychee Raspberry ($5) in a Milo Cone ($1). The Mao Shan Wang was rich, creamy, and not overly sweet, while the Lychee Raspberry gelato was a delightful blend of smooth texture and tart, fruity notes. Although we could not discern a strong Milo taste in the cone, it was crunchy and complemented the gelato well.
Refreshing Retreat in Joo Chiat
Crème & Cone is a welcome addition to Joo Chiat – a nice refreshing retreat. It offers an escape from the heat and humidity and has a delightful selection of gelato and other treats. Whether you are seeking a cool down or a light snack in Joo Chiat, this simple cafe is worth a visit.
