HarriAnns Nonya Table has opened its latest outlet in the basement of Paya Lebar Quarter (PLQ) Mall. It is a good destination for handcrafted, authentic Nyonya kuehs and hearty traditional dishes based on cherished family recipes. From Rainbow Lapis and Ondeh Ondeh to signature dishes such as Laksa, Ayam Buah Keluak and Beef Rendang, HarriAnns offers a tempting variety of traditional tastes at affordable prices.

HarriAnns Peranakan Restaurant at PLQ Mall
The family business with roots reaching back to the 1940s started as a humble wooden pushcart in Tiong Bahru. The brand has transformed under third-generation leadership. Since taking the reins in 2014, the current owners have moved beyond their Tiong Bahru Market kiosk to establish cafes in Bugis Junction, Suntec City and Keppel Bay Tower. This latest opening at PLQ Mall continues their mission to make traditional Peranakan cuisine accessible.

HarriAnns occupies the unit previously held by another Peranakan eatery, Tingkat PeraMakan. The floor plan is narrow and compact. However, the new management has reconfigured the layout to maximise seating capacity.
The interior features vibrant murals depicting traditional Peranakan house and sarong kebaya-clad figures. While the decor is charming, the tables are positioned quite close to one another. During peak lunch and dinner hours, the atmosphere is bustling and efficient. It functions more as a spot for a quick, satisfying meal rather than a place for long, leisurely conversation.

Ordering at HarriAnns Nonya Table PLQ follows a modern, contactless system. Upon arrival, diners collect a physical buzzer. This device features a QR code that links directly to a digital menu.
Customers scan the code with their smartphones to select items and make payments online. For those preferring to use cash or NETS, the counter remains available. Once the kitchen prepares the food, the buzzer vibrates to signal that the meal is ready for collection at the pick-up point.

Menu of HarriAnns Nonya Table PLQ
The menu offers breakfast sets, snacks, desserts, nyonya set meals and “Mini Tok Panjang” platters. A variety of cakes and nyonya kuehs are also available.
Below are pictures of the physical menu as well as screenshots from the digital menu.

Mini Tok Panjang & Nyonya Sets
We ordered the Curry Chicken Mini Tok Panjang Set ($16.50) as well as the Babi Pongteh Set ($12.50) and Fish Noodle Set ($13.00).

The “Tok Panjang” traditionally refers to a long-table feast. HarriAnns shrinks this concept into a personal wooden tray. The main dish was a bowl of Nyonya Curry Chicken, with two large pieces of chicken and boiled potato. The gravy was thick and rich. It was not very spicy. Accompanying the curry was blue pea rice. The side dishes were sambal prawns, nonya chap chye, achar and otah. Every item was delicious.

The classic Peranakan braised pork dish, Babi Pongteh, had slow-cooked pork in fermented soy bean paste (tauchu) gravy. Large chunks of radish and dried mushrooms were included in the bowl. The pork was tender and tasty. The set included rice and achar and a hot beverage.

The fish noodle was a lighter alternative to dishes with heavy gravies. The clear broth was clean and naturally sweet. There were generous slices of fresh white fish, tomatoes, vegetables and thick bee hoon. It was a comforting, healthy choice lunch.

Good Option for Peranakan food
HarriAnns Nonya Table at PLQ Mall is a good option for those seeking good Peranakan cuisine at a reasonable price. The menu is transparent, with all stated prices inclusive of GST. Furthermore, the self-service model means that no additional service charge is applied. The versatile offerings cater to office workers grabbing a quick Kaya Toast breakfast set and diners seeking a substantial, affordable meal. During off-peak hours, the space can be a spot where patrons may enjoy their coffee and traditional kueh at a leisurely pace.
