With Kallang Wave Mall undergoing a major revamp, diners visiting the Singapore Sports Hub precinct (now known as The Kallang) are looking to Leisure Park Kallang for food options. The newest prominent addition to the ground floor of Leisure Park Kallang mall is Joyden Canton. This brand previously operated in Shaw House and had sister outlets under the names Joyden Canton Kitchen at HillV2 and Joyden Treasures on the second floor of this very same mall. Today, Joyden Canton at Leisure Park Kallang offers a modern take on classical Cantonese cuisine.

Joyden Canton occupies a prominent space on the first level of the mall. It features an open glass facade that allows passers-by to peer into the dining area. The layout feels bright and accessible.

The interior design has a modern aesthetic mixed with tropical elements. One side of the wall features bold, banana-leaf patterned wallpaper framed by dark structural beams. Polished wood-grained flooring, warm copper pendant lights, and circular recessed ceiling illumination create a comfortable and elevated casual atmosphere. Plush booth seats curve around large circular tables, offering a degree of privacy for small groups.

Menu Highlights

The digital ordering system categorises the food into distinct sections, including seasonal specials and a curated top ten list. Prices are moderate for a full-service shopping mall restaurant.

The menu contains classic roasts, wok-fried seafood, vegetables and housemade tofu dishes.

There are also seasonal specialities like the limited-time Cantonese Poached Rice series, which features comfort food options served in claypots. Diners can choose variants like the Teochew-Style Minced Pork and Baby Oyster Poached Rice for $28.80 or the premium Superior Seafood Poached Rice with Crispy Rice Puff for $38.80.

Dim sum items, like Mini Baked Egg Tarts, Pan-Fried Carrot Cake and Baked BBQ Pork Pastries, are also available before 5 pm.

Simple Lunch at Joyden

We had a simple meal with just two dishes at Joyden Canton at Leisure Park Kallang, and the restaurant did not disappoint.

The Housemade Spinach Beancurd with Gingko in Superior Conpoy Sauce ($18.88) arrived with six uniform blocks of egg tofu. The chefs topped each piece with a layer of savoury chopped spinach and a single gingko nut. The outer skin was lightly fried, while the interior remained silk-smooth. A savoury, translucent conpoy (dried scallop) gravy coated the bottom of the plate, adding depth without masking the clean taste of the tofu.

Next came the Wok-Tossed Fish Fillet with Black Bean and Mushroom ($2.5.80). This dish had good wok hei. The kitchen tossed thick slices of white fish with large shiitake mushrooms, red and green bell peppers, and white onions. The black bean sauce was thick, savoury, and rich, coating each ingredient evenly without becoming overly salty or greasy. The vegetables retained a pleasant, crunchy texture. Both dishes were really good for eating with rice ($2 per bowl).

Joyden Canton provides a dependable and comfortable dining experience in the Kallang area. It is a contemporary casual Chinese restaurant that feels welcoming and relaxed. The food focuses on clean and balanced Cantonese flavours, and we liked the dishes we tried. This restaurant at Leisure Park Kallang is suited for multi-generational family gatherings or casual business lunches. It would also make an excellent venue for a team meal to celebrate a sporting victory.
