Tanjong Rhu Wanton Noodle in Siglap

Tanjong Rhu Wanton Noodle ๆญฃไธนๆ็ฆบ้ฒๅ้ข has long been a staple in the local hawker scene. The brand originally operated inside a coffee shop at Block 7 Jalan Batu. That was the same coffee shop that housed the renowned Tanjong Rhu Pau. Today, the brand has expanded. It now has many stalls across the island. We believe some branches are operated by franchisees.
We visited the Tanjong Rhu Wanton Noodle stall located in Siglap. The stall sits inside the coffeeshop at 727 East Coast Road, right next to Siglap Centre.
Prices start at $4 for the Heritage Wanton Noodle. Meanwhile, the menu has expanded to offer items such as Braised Beef Brisket Noodles for $6 and Chicken Feet Noodles for $5.
What We Tried
We ordered two bowls of the Signature Wanton Noodle ($4.50), one with chilli and one without.

The portion size was was generous. The dry egg noodles came topped with lean char siew slices, green vegetables, and crispy deep-fried wantons. A side bowl of clear soup contained small boiled wantons wrapped in thin, smooth skins. The egg noodles were thin and cooked well to achieve a firm, springy texture. The char siew slices were lean and straightforward – nothing very special. The fried wantons were crispy and delectable.

The chilli sauce provided a sharp, noticeable spiciness. The spicy version of the wanto noodle delivered a balanced blend of savoury, spicy, and tangy notes.

The non-chilli bowl featured noodles coated in a tomato ketchup and soy sauce gravy. The non-spicy sauce offered a milder profile with a slight sweetness. Diners who can tolerate spicy flavours should opt for the variant with chilli.
