News: New Chapter for PS.Cafe Harding at Dempsey

Dining out in Singapore constantly evolves. Diners look for new restaurants that blend local familiarity with contemporary global cuisine. One of the island’s most established names has returned with a fresh perspective. PS.Cafe Harding has reopened with a redesigned interior and an all-new menu.

PS.CAFE - Harding Road Facade

Located amidst the lush greenery of Dempsey Hill, the newly renovated outlet serves as a homecoming for the homegrown brand. The space aims to reflect how Singaporeans eat, gather, and live today.

Designed for the Woods

The refreshed interior connects guests directly with the surrounding Dempsey forest. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide uninterrupted views of nature while keeping diners comfortable indoors.

The design team selected a warm, natural colour palette. Shades of mustard, copper, burnt orange, and deep brown ground the space. Mid-century wooden furniture combines with textured materials like linen, suede, and leather to create an inviting atmosphere. Michael Bovell, CEO of the PS.Gourmet Group, notes that the venue functions less like a traditional restaurant and more like a beautifully lived-in home.

A Menu Rooted in the Singapore Pantry

The menu moves away from rigid interpretations of heritage. Instead, the kitchen team draws inspiration from the flavours Singaporeans encounter daily, combining local ingredients with classic Western techniques.

The new all-week menu spans 51 dishes, replacing separate weekday and weekend offerings. It is organised into six distinct sections: Sharing, Big Plates, Noodles & Pasta, Brunch, Pizza, and Sweets, alongside a dedicated children’s menu.

Traditional Asian condiments provide depth and umami across various dishes. Ingredients like preserved salted radish, pickled mustard greens, fermented bean curd (fu ru), and coconut cream feature prominently.

  • Burrata & Spiced Peanut: Creamy Italian burrata meets a Southeast Asian spiced peanut sauce.
  • Panzanella Salad: A traditional bread salad reimagined with crispy youtiao (dough fritters) to soak up a savoury fu ru dressing.
  • Duck Confit Risotto: A dish inspired by local braised duck rice, pairing duck confit with creamy yam risotto and a mustard greens relish.
  • Snapper Assam Arrabbiata: A bowl of pasta that merges the tangy, sour notes of Singaporean assam fish with a fiery arrabbiata sauce.
  • Fried Mac & Cheese Cake: Singapore’s traditional fried carrot cake reinvented as crisp macaroni and cheese, served with sriracha yoghurt and avocado salsa.
  • Teh-C Thick Cakes: A breakfast creation inspired by the local morning ritual of teh-C (tea with evaporated milk). Thick pancakes are drenched in a tea-infused sauce, paired with longan, and finished with crunchy caramelised rice puffs.
