Joe & Dough cafe seems to have more and more outlets opening in Singapore. Its tag line – Eat Sip Love resonated with us as it captures the three important things about cafe experiences. We visited their branch at Millenia Walk and it was a very pleasant experience.
The Joe & Dough cafe at Millenia Walk occupies a long deep space. One side of the space is used for the service and display area while the dining area takes up the other side and widens out at the end to a sun-drenched area that faces the Millenia Tower office building. A parade of taps adorn the blank wall, almost like an art installation.
The food served at Joe & Dough is the usual kind of bread and pastries. We were only there for coffee and desserts but the breakfast featured in their posters look interesting. Breakfast at Joe & Dough is definitely on our to-do list. The atmosphere at this cafe is very friendly. The staff were welcoming and enthusiastic about their products. Always a good sign!
It was hard to choose which of the cakes to try as they all looked so good. The two desserts that we finally decided on were the blueberry muffin and blueberry yogurt cake. The muffin costs $3.40; a black coffee $4.30. The cake and cappuccino were packaged as a Gourmet Cake set that costs $9.50.
The muffin was fluffy and full of blue berries. The cake was creamy. Both were very good and not too sweet. We have no hesitation in recommending these items.
The standard of coffee in Singapore these days is very high as more Singapore residents embrace the gourmet coffee cafe culture. The coffee and cappuccino we had at Joe & Dough cafe were very good. Robust and full-bodied but without any burnt or sour taste. Overall, this is a very unpretentious cafe that delivers not only in terms of the food and coffee but also the overall cafe ambience and experience.
