The Dark Gallery Chocolates and Ice Cream – sweet dreams are made of these

The Dark Gallery is a new kiosk cafe on the ground floor of Millenia Walk. It is a coffee and dessert cafe that showcases the beauty and taste of chocolates. Things which we find hard to resist. It appears from their website that the Dark Gallery originates from Malaysia. They have an outlet in MyTOWN Shopping Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Like its neighbours Kith Cafe and Patisserie G, The Dark Gallery uses up the atrium space that was formerly just open space used as a common walkway.  A clever move as the display cases containing delicious looking sweet things will surely tempt the unsuspecting passersby. The weak-willed (like us) will succumb to the dark (chocolate)  forces. Apart from the display and food and drinks preparation area, there is a small dining space.

Here are some of the attractive macarons, chocolates and ice-cream on display at The Dark Gallery.

The Dark Gallery Menu

The Dark Gallery Menu contains a list of dessert items, mostly ice creams and various drinks. It is hard to imagine the items from the text. Better to go to the display and point. Plus, you can get to taste the ice cream before deciding. We ended up with a mix of ice-creams and a Single Origin Platter.

This is the Single Origin Chocolate Medley ($10) – a mixed platter of small dessert items. I can’t remember what each of them were. Only that they were delicious. Their small size meant that we did not feel so guilty.

Single Origin Chocolate Pastries Platter ($12)

These are the three scoops ice-cream. The ones in the cup costs $5 each. The chocolate waffle cup costs an extra $1. The waffle cup is really good and worth the extra $1. We had the Signature 80% dark chocolate, the salted peanut butter and a third one which I cannot remember. It is fair to say that all of them are worth the calories. We also tried others as well and everything was good. We ended up buying these simply because they look different and more interesting for the photos. The ice-cream was not too sweet. The 80% chocolate was neither too bitter nor strong. The taste was well-balanced. The coffee is from Common Man Roasters and costs $4 for the Black Coffee and $5 for Cappuccino.

Sea Salt Butter Scotch in Freshly Baked Chocolate Waffle Bowl ($6)

All in all, The Dark Gallery is an attractive dessert and coffee place in Millenia Walk which we will surely want to stop by when we are there again.
