The Marmalade Pantry Downtown Oasia Hotel, located on the ground level of the hotel, is a food oasis in the bustling business district. It offers breakfast to the hotel guests and those in business still doing power breakfast. The office warriors can have a good quick lunch there. Those with time to spare can indulge in afternoon tea at Marmalade Pantry Downtown. It is also a cosy spot for dinner in the evening and for brunch during the weekend.
The Marmalade Pantry Downtown Oasia Hotel
The Oasia Hotel Downtown by Far East Hospitality, designed by famed WOHA Architects, has a brightly coloured facade that is covered in parts by a lush green vertical garden. The reception desk of the hotel is on the 12th level leaving the ground level for a bar and The Marmalade Pantry. The Marmalade Pantry Downtown Oasia Hotel thus occupies a prime spot that is easily accessible. Sitting in the spacious and brightly lit Marmalade Pantry Downtown is like sitting in a calm oasis as you observe the busy world outside through the full height glass panels.
The Marmalade Pantry Downtown Menu
The menu of the homegrown bistro offers European comfort food with some dishes given an Asian Twist. Below is a picture the main menu of The Marmalade Pantry Downtown. There is also an Asian Corner Menu which offers dishes like Palak Paneer and Singapore Laksa. They also have seasonal set menus and special promotional items from time to time.
Cupcakes and other tempting confectionery ate displayed at the bar counter.
New Dishes at The Marmalade Pantry
We ordered the Truffle Beef Burger ($25) and the Lala Clams Vongole ($22), 2 of the 7 new dishes The Marmalade Pantry introduced recently. We also had the Quinoa Salad Half Portion ($15).
The Truffle Beef Burger was served with a generous helping of parmesan fries and mesclun salad. The burger was a substantial one with a thick beef patty, smoked cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms and truffle aioli. With a fluffy toasted bun, the burger was juicy and meaty with the distinctive taste and aroma of truffle.
The Quinoa Salad with orange slices, capers, beetroot, red onion, grilled courgette, cucumber and mesclun salad looked colourful. It was generously doused with sherry vinaigrette. A good looking healthy dish which was quite enjoyable.
The Lala Clams Vongole is pasta given an Asian treatment. The spaghetti was nicely cooked – soft enough to bite but still quite hard. The sauce with garlic, chili, anchovies, lemongrass and white wine was complex and tasty. It was quick spicy. There was a generous amount of lala which tasted fresh and well complimented by the pasta sauce. The Lala Clams Vongole of The Marmalade Pantry was flavourful and quite enjoyable but it would not be our favourite pasta dish.
Great downtown spot for a good bite
At The Marmalade Pantry Downtown, the service was friendly and efficient. We liked the expanded menu and enjoyed the food. It has a comfortable and pleasant space and is easily accessible. We think it is a great downtown spot for a good bite at anytime of the day.
