Green Ba Vegetarian Restaurant at TripleOne Somerset Singapore

Green Ba Restaurant is a vegetarian restaurant TripleOne Somerset Singapore. TripleOne Somerset is the building that used to be the PUB Building a long time ago. It houses offices on the high floors and retail and dining on the low floors. I noticed that a row of spanking new restaurants have opened up on the ground floor, together with a new Fairprice Finest supermarket. The Green Ba vegetarian restaurant looked promising with its vertical garden with vegetables growing on site.

Green Ba Vegetarian Restaurant at TripleOne Somerset Singapore has a bright contemporary atmosphere. It has a large glass front that lets in a lot of natural light. The staff were polite and welcoming.

This is a picture of the plants growing at the side of the Green Ba Restaurant. Was it just decorative or do they actually cultivate vegetables for consumption? They assured me that it was the latter and the kitchen uses plants from this tiny vegetable patch.

Green Ba Restaurant Menu (TripleOne Somerset)

Here are pictures of some pages of the Green Ba Restaurant Menu (TripleOne Somerset). Do note that the menu at the other outlet Green Ba Marina Square is slightly different (for example, there is satay on the Marina Square menu). For a vegetarian restaurant, the menu looks surprising like any other restaurant. They have burgers and claypot chicken rice. I decided to try the executive lunch set ($12.90 nett).

Green Ba Restaurant Menu (TripleOne Somerset)

This was my executive lunch at the Green Ba Restaurant (TripleOne Somerset). I had the claypot rice with chicken in gong bao sauce. A side dish of dumplings and a glass of ice lemon tea was provided as part of the meal.

The dishes looked very attractive. The pieces of “chicken” looked and tasted very authentic. In fact I found it hard to believe that this was a vegetarian version of claypot rice with chicken. It contained vegetables, mushroom and chestnut. The bottom part of the rice was charred by the hot pot. The overall dish was enjoyable.

Likewise, I would not have guessed that these dumplings were vegetarian. But I did not like it as much as the rice as they were swimming in quite a lot of vinegar. It was too much sourness for me. A light drizzle of vinegar would have sufficed. The meal at Green Ba restaurant ended with a small portion of fruits.

Overall, I thought that the executive lunch at Green Ba was a good deal. The price of $12.90 was nett, i.e. no further GST or service charge was added on. I find that this way of charging is so much more convenient and transparent. They should be commended for doing this.

There is a one-hour free parking at TripleOne Somerset – which lasts till 30 April 2019. See terms and conditions in the picture below.

Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie.― Jim Davis
