Chic-a-boo is another chain of restaurants by Astons. It offers quality fried chicken at affordable prices and also serves burgers, baked rice, pasta and various side dishes. It has outlets in Marina Square, City Square, Sembawang and Chai Chee and has just opened a new store in SingPost Centre.
The new Chic-a-boo outlet is located on the ground level of SingPost Centre. It is open and airy and has the traditional Western country barn look. Chic-a-boo at SingPost Centre operates like a typical fast food restaurant. You go up to order and pay at the cashier’s counter and will be given a buzzer. You collect drinks from the cashier’s counter and collect your food from the collection point when prompted by the buzzer.
Chic-a-boo Menu
The main event on Chic-a-boo Menu is fried chicken. There is a choice of flavours and there are a la carte items and set meal options. Below are pictures of the Chic-a-boo menu boards. There is an online menu on its website.
Fried Chicken & Burger
We ordered the 2 Piece Fried Chicken set meal ($8.90) and the Mayo Chicken Burger set meal ($8.90). Each set meal allowed us to choose a soft drink and 2 side dishes.
Chic-a-boo Fried Chicken came with a corn muffin and we opted for salad and soup as the side options. The portion was quite substantial. The fried chicken was good. It had thin crispy batter and the meat was tender and flavourful. It was not oily. Overall a very good version of fried chicken.
We had coleslaw and mashed potato as the side options for the Mayo Burger. Chic-a-boo Burger was essentially a large piece of fried chicken served with bread and some vegetables. A Mayo Burger meant mayo sauce was added into the mix. It was enjoyable and we thought it was good value.
Affordable Set Meals
Chic-a-boo’s prices are comparable to those of other fried chicken chains. We think Chic-a-boo’s portion is generous and the set meals are really good value. The quality and taste of the fried chicken are good and there is a wide variety of side dishes to choose from. Chic-a-boo will certainly be added to our list of restaurants for a great affordable fried chicken meal.
